Dark red. Black licorice, dark fruits, and cinnamon apples on the nose. There are multiple layers of blackberry cobbler flavors with blueberries, grape soda, baking spices and long finish with ample tannins. Complex but not heavy. Very well balanced and very tasty. Mike Officer did a great job of putting this together. Still has a long life ahead but yummy now.

Big fan of Carlisle wines. Can't say the same about Mourvedre. But this bottle was rocking. Full-bodied, great fruit, fairly smooth, nice finish.

Popped and poured, but definitely would benefit from decanting. An inky black plum flows into the glass looking like black satin. The sheen captivates the eye. A deep bouquet of plum, black current, smoke, and saddle leather lift from the glass. With the palate precisely tracking the nose, the mouthfeel is generous; round, smooth, weighty. Dried herbs appear on the mid-palate and bitter chocolate carries the loong finish. To be so young, this wine drinks very well just now. Enjoy …

Coravin by the glass. Aromas of blackberry, baker’s chocolate, earth and dried herbs. Black fruit, chocolate, herbs, earth and a hint of cinnamon on the palate. Good persistence. Medium to full bodied. Served with grilled pork chops.

Shame on me! I did not recall, or check on CT to know that I had just opened a bottle of this fabulous wine back at the end of April. Well... This bottle was every bit as fabulous as the bottle opened in April! If you have any bottles, I would suggest they are only going to get even better with a few more years!

Oh my! So good and such a great value! this was a "just park you nose inside the glass for a bit before you taste it" kind of wine. The nose was fabulous and inviting. The best word I can come up with to describe this wine is "hedonistic." Wonderful depth of flavors, well integrated, no perceptible 'heat.' Long finish. Oh my! Decanted for 1.5 hours. There were probably ten bottles of wine at this party from various CA producers, …

Very smooth, tannins about gone as per other notes, but fruit and other components still present. Hint of chocolate remaining. Would recommend drinking now and not waiting until 2024.

Total Carlisle fan but my fam loved this more than me. Tasted like a Zin - and not the Mourvèdre I was expecting. My perception is probably tainted by my love of Bandol, so I’ll not be harsh.

Lots going on. Dark color. Blue and black berries, but then heaps of savory peppery notes with rose petal persisting on the finish.

Tasty Mourvdre Enticing aromatics. Fully resolved tannins. Not getting any acid on the finish. A bit simple. I suspect it was better in its youth.

Unfortunately my only bottle of this delicious WOW wine. Concentrated fruit and impeccable balance makes this a real winner. Drink or hold

opened but not decanted 4 hours before drinking. Fairly dark color, nose shows a lot of normal Mourvèdre notes but a little bit of ripeness too. Very smooth first sip, loads of blackberry and blueberry. Oak presence notable but integrating. Still a bit of tough acid on the finish, but another hour open and it’s drinking really nicely as a slightly deeper Mourvèdre. A nice effort from Carlisle from good fruit.

Woodsy, orange, spice on the nose. Red fruit, apple skin, with an earthy taste to it. Well blended and approachable now. Clearly some heft though and probably gets better integrated with time.

Still going strong after 12 years. Surprised how good this one was cellaring this long. Tannins have melted away leaving a core of dark fruit and some spice notes. Just barely showing some secondary characteristic. Might have to go hands off on some other Carlisle wines. Not sure I would hold it any longer but it is quite good now.

Big surprise. Didn't know if I was going to like this, 10 years after purchasing. Very pleasant full-bodied dark fruit wine, neither new world or old. Maybe a 50-50 mix without the great nose of old world wines. Drinking well, nice finish.

Faint strawberry fruit notes on the nose and palate. Medium-bodied with smooth tannins. I aged this bottle hoping that it would be beneficial, but am now curious on whether the wine may have been better in its youth, perhaps showing more fruit. An ok bottle of wine, but always expect much more from a Carlisle.

PnP and delicious right from the start. This is getting better with age. Beautifully welcoming floral notes that meld nicely with rich, soft and round purple and blueberry fruit flavors. Polished tannins. Picking up a nose of cinnamon, butter and brown sugar. Still has some mild acidity which suggests this could be really good for a couple more years.

Very nice bottle. Engaging flavor profile, on the mulberry/boisenberry side of things. Nicely balanced with some good brightness to the fruit. Not a heavy wine, a nice mouthfeel. We drank it on its own and found it right in the zone. Enjoy now for lingering primary fruit flavors or let ride to see what it turns into. Unfortunately this was my last bottle.

A nicely presented wine, but blind don't think I would have pegged it as mourvedre. Didn't have the signatures I look for in the blood/sanguine, rust, iron type of notes. This was a darker, juicier wine. Very grill friendly and enjoyable taste wise just wasn't what I was expecting. Tasted more like a CA old vine zin-led field blend than something mourvedre. I've had many vintages of Carlisle's Two Acres and this Bedrock was darker and more plush on the …

Decanted and served at a dinner party. Dark plum and blackberry fruit notes, with brambly earth tones and a vanilla oak note that emerged. Full and deep palate with added meaty flavors that filled in around the earthy fruit. Round ripe tannins and a full finish. Very nice.
