Smooth on opening; balanced dark red fruit with limited complexity and depth; enjoyable but without vibrancy.

Bought from a Milanese wine store. Medium to deep garnet colour. Nose is evolved, with aromas of sour cherries, tobacco, plums, roast tomatoes and some heat. Cherry and plum replicated on the taste, along with figs, chocolate, cinnamon, tomato leaf. Dry, medium-full body, medium-high tannin and acid. Good length. Excellent Tuscan with great value. At a good point now, still staying good for years to come but not necessarily evolving.

Vibrant purple color. Lovely nose of black cherries, tart black currants and some fig paste, with lovely depth of spicy and herbal tones, including roasted meats, rocky hillsides, violets, wild herbs – a lot to parse out. Refreshing acidity and dusty tannins make for a finely balanced wine, full of tangy currant fruit. I love the stony, mineral, sun-roasted rock feel to this wine, along with the complexity and enticing nature of the herbal, earthy, and savory nuances. This begs …

Thought Id pop another bottle to see if it was as good as I remembered. Beautiful nose of blueberries and milk chocolate. Bit of heat but this blew off over time. Velvety mouth feel, full bodied+ with dark fruits prominent. Yes, this is great value. Goes better with food.

This is an outstanding QPR. Was informed that its a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet with the Cab really coming through, so much so it hinted at a Bordeaux profile. Medium + bodied, rich and velvety with dark berries to the fore. Lovely and must buy more.

Fresh red fruits whit spicy notes on the nose. Lively acid, medium body and tannins. Good fruit, fresh and tastes nice with good balance. Not much complexity.

Tossed away the two last bottles I had. One oxidised, one corked.

Dark crimson with orange in rim; dried roses, slight cedar, polished ripe red fruit, wet earth; large scaled palate for Sangiovese, firm acid, slight grain to the tannin; very nice but tougher QPR for me.

Outstanding recommendation from waiter sommelier, asked for Super Tuscan but he recommended this. Nice bold structure and moderate tannins. Paired with Spicy Pizza!

ancora un filo troppo giovane, colore rubino violaceo, naso mentolato di frutta di bosco nera e rossa, con finale d'alloro, palato armonico e pieno, liquirizia, tannino ancora un po' scorbutico ma sanamente adolescenziale, lungo e fine, molto maschile, leggermente privo di fascino in quanto molto unidimensionale; comunque vino piacevole e importante

Monthly tasting club LTC 2014-03; Italy plus a few pirates. (@ GH) : In the bouquet a lot of cherries and some bell pepper. On the palate black forest fruits like blackberries, some earth and herbs. A firm amount of sweetness balanced by good acidity and sticky tannin. Good concentration. Still youthful. 88+

Gambero Rosso Roadshow (Sydney, Australia) : Truffle and earth, rose and some oak. Sultry palate with dark fruits hiding some good tannic structure. Liked this quite a bit.
