Smith Wooton Petit Verdot

This is really young, but was great. Tons of concentration, but with a mid-13's alcohol level, it is perfectly balanced. Tannins are pretty strong at this point, but I wasn't upset that I already opened the one bottle I had. Will last 15 years and will still be great.

Vintage Select Industry Tasting (Vintage Select Warehouse, Houston, TX) : My first 100% PV. On the nose, baking spicy, blackberry, cola, spicy oak. On the palate, ripe blackberry, raspberry, spice, cola. Very sappy mid palate transition. Lots of tannic structure on the finish. Wild, savage, less alcohol than expected. Don't know what to make of it other than it is a very well done wine. I might be underscoring this, just nothing in my memory bank to comapre it to.
