New Years Eve family lunch - this year at the new and improved Arturo's in Maplewood. Nice wine with the pizza and pasta.

Very close to Cal Bear's note. Very dark ruby. Dark cherries, sweet berries and earthy aromas on the nose. Mid-bodied with soft tanins, rich fruit and balancing acidity: very well made but not particularly inspiring. Fairly long finish. Not as good as the 2007, but very enjoyable overall.

Deep ruby color. Lively bouquet. Medium body. Mouthful of blueberries. One note and lacking much structure, but just yummy and fresh. Good alone and versatile food wine. Had with homemade lasagna. No complaints.
