Leather, dark berries and oak in the bouquet. On the palate juicy dark berries, metal mineral impressions, a touch of sweetness, chocolate. Very full bodied and warm, yet elegant wine.

Perhaps I've been sitting on an excellent bottle? What a wine! Significant tannins during the decant - for presentation at our lunch I cleaned out the bottle and decanted back - about 3 hours before pouring. Dark maroon colours with a little bricking on the rim. Fantastic nose of dark fruits but with some lifted fresh berry, a little cedar. The palate has immediate impact of dark fruit but again with some black raspberry freshness, huge mouth-coating density, some satchel …

Blackberry and plum fruit with sweet oak. A little pepper from the Cab Franc. Secondary notes of mushroom, thyme, and forest brush coming through.

Just perfect now. Tannins are perfectly integrated. Merlot in a great form. Red fruits all over the place. Rosepedal wood. Very nice.

Dark fruit, chocolate and oak on the nose. Dark cherry with well integrated tannins. A bit short aftertaste and overall a bit disappointing, as you can get a proper Bordeaux for the same price.

Despite corking issues this wine is still going strong. Definitely wild raspberry mocha profiles amongst savory vanilla and straw/saw dust austerity. This drinks dark but did not offend my Bolognese. More leather tobacco and fig than my last bottle. Some nice baking spice notes. Balance and finesse. Touch of heat too! This wine has cellared well and could probably stand a few more years in the basement. Decent complexity. Decent concentration.

BYOB with a couple of friends; 8/31/2019-9/1/2019 (Gothenburg) : Tasted blind. Deep intensity, ruby color. Young and still a bit tightly knit. Dense black fruit, toasty oak and some green traces of grass and bell pepper. Full bodied and fruit-charged on the palate. Bright acidity and prominent tannins makes up for some age-worthy structure. Concentrated flavors of black cherry, cassis, toasted oak, coffee, tobacco and mint. Long finish with a bit of warmth from the alcohol. This wine has an …

Rich, rounding cassis nose with complexities of violets, polished leather, pencil-lead and under-brush. Compact and muscular with generous berry flavour, great acidity and ripe, solid tannins; the 14.5% alcohol is barely perceptible. Long, complex, savoury finish. 5/5

DIscover VINO - Fine wines corner; 5/11/2018-5/12/2018 (Sofia) : Rich and generous on the nose with red fruits and coffee, in the mouth - full bodied, again red fruits, spices, roasted coffee. This is Cabernet Sauvignon based blend with some help from CF, Sangiovese and a touch of Petit Verdot, well made that fits nicely in the Nipozzano estate style. While I woud like to see more charm and character (could come with age), it is surely a crowd pleaser.

Gambero Rosso Singapore 2017. Sniff, sip, spit. Only impressions. Cabernet capsicums, blackcurrant leaf, blackberries and blackcurrant, toasty oak. Well-made clearly Cabernet dominant SuperTuscan. Largely Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese, with a touch of Petit Verdot.

Chef Eric does Risotto : violets, meat and touch of tobacco mixing with the cherry and plum notes. very "Tuscan" nose - hard to believe that this is a cab. the mid is full of cherry and cherry pit with a hint of chewy tobacco notes on the back. with time - a bit more plum comes in as well. this is a fully mature and delicious example of Tuscan Bdx blend. drink now.

Varied bottles of interest : Stems, raspberry and blueberry fruit aromas along with a lightly earthy spiciness. The palate is medium bodied, there is some dark rich fruit that is reigned in by well proportioned tannins. Drinking nicely now but a few more years won't hurt.

Terroir-istes International - Italy, Chianti Classico (Rodwell House) : Light garnet to browning rim with a bouquet of marmite/yeast extract, forest floor and earthy truffle notes. There are some sweet red fruits and a little volatility. Light-bodied, the wine has a crisp attack with freshness despite its age. Flavours copy nose with their tertiary notes, spice, tar and wet chalk. Some richness to the texture leads to svelte tannins and medium length. Not that much depth nor that complex, but …

Very dark, almost black. On the nose: Blackcurrant, spices, intense taste, definetely big and munchy. THe wine is very good, but not as structured a wine in this prce class should be.

Good clean and intact cork with a very tight seal. Dark red belies the cabernet element. Big austere dark fruit of casis and blackberry. A traditional style supertuscan. Hard as nails tuscan wine with a bit of rusticity. No modern plump and polish here. This needs meat or bolognese to tame it. Not my favorite style of tuscan wine as the acidity and tannin provide too much structure for dry fruit. Still a well made wine that many would appreciate.

Muscular and tart but also generous, with cigar, charcoal, and blackberry dominating. It has structure to spare; the tannins are bold and astringent. Shedding some sediment, but has some maturing still to do. A stick-to-your-ribs kind of wine that went pretty well with strawberry shortcake.

When first opened, a tight and overpowering palate, very dark fruit, raisins. A bit tart. Long jumbled finish. The second night, it had settled down but I can't say I really enjoyed it. Some coffee notes add to the palate but still too big, too disjointed, too tart.
