Discovered during my recent visit in kayserberg - nice wine tasting at weinbach. Named after the son of the current owner. Beautiful light golden Color. Enjoyable nose - quite warm but not overly sweet fruit like red apple, pineapple and orange. Med acidity, Med body, Med alcohol, Med flavor intensity and Med finish. Nicely balanced between greenness and fruit, creaminess filling the mouth, light touch of pepper. Very enjoyable and one of the less sweet versions of their Riesling offering.

Lovely maturing mid weight Riesling. A touch of kerosine alongside the lime cut fruit. Good weight on the palate, quite rich, but cut through with a lovely, refreshing green herbal element that provides interest as well as freshness, drawing one back in for the next sip. Really quite impressive. ****

This wine keeps getting better. Questo vino è diventa meglio. At first apple and fresh cut wood, like balsa or oak. Then it became salty and sweet - lemon meringue or peach cobbler. Went well with many dishes but maybe best solo. A minute later it was screaming of slightly toasted coconut. I love it.

This proves, even from somewhat mediocre vintages, well made Alsatian riesling can be outstanding. Dry finish, great acidity, minerality, luscious peach-like fruit. I think some of the best values in the wine world come from Alsace, especially for these mid-price point "special cuvees" from all of the famous makers (Trimbach's Cuvee Frederic Emile, Weinbach's Cuvees, Zind Single Vineyard stuff, etc) - they are usually in the 30 to 50 dollar range and they constantly wow me, while other regions 30 …

Lovely green-yellow color. Focussed but fairly simple nose of hydrocarbons, lime, and that lovely Weinbach perfume. Rather unctuous on palate but this quickly dissipates leaving nice acidity but a hollowness and lack of fruit. Nice fragrance but the wine seems hard and out of balance. Is the wine in a dumb spot or is it past its prime? Purchased on release and stored at 55F since then. The cork was in good shape. Served with scallops with cilantro pesto, steamed …

FLOOred me again. Colin wishin he'd gotten some when they were 1/2 off. Nose of beeswax, lemon, green apple, then...scallops (?), balsa wood, sushi, tumeric, ginger......basically anything you could want. Would rock with indian spices, shellfish or scallops.

Impressed. Almost an outstanding wine. Just on the edge. Maybe some air or bottle age will get it there. Nose of peaches, pears and cashews. Excelled with sun-dried tomatoes - their sweetness. Find more if under $30.

lean and mineral with lots of lime on the nose, some apple skins. good acidity frames the wine. very fresh and the energetic core defies the overall lightness of the wine. i wonder if i drank this too young, because overall it seems a bit reserved.

Lovely limpid gold color. Expressive nose of Spring flowers, lemon, grass, flint and green tobacco. The nose also shows significant botrytis. Quite full (but dry) on the palate with flavors that echo the aroma. Good finish. All in all, a lovely Riesling.
