Gerard Boulay Sancerre Rouge Chavignol

Improved after 3-4 hours decant, tart cherry, hint of overextraction/jammy quality, but held in check by acidity. Long cherry/strawberry finish. Reminds me of Vacheron La Belle Dame, with just a little less complexity. Probably will improve with time, fruit dominates for now.

Cherry, plum, watermelon candy and fruit punch like. Elegant earth and smoke, perfectly balanced. The nose communicated what was on the palate but some at the table said the nose was even better and the palate was a bit of a let down. For me this wine was a little piece of heaven, guilty pleasure sweet fruit with sophisticated earthiness in a smooth mellow package. Just my style.
