Quite muted in the nose and especially on the plate during the first 2 hours; fortunately gradually opened up nicely afterwards; floral, fruity, complex, and elegant in the nose, with cherries, strawberries, caramel, and lots of fragrant roses; juicy yet rather one-dimensional and tannic on the plate, with berries and cherries, licorice, and some light spices; very long finish; overall, 94-95 points at this stage; still too young to be enjoyable at this price, but sure lots of potential down …

Subtle nose of dark fruit and spice. Big up front flavors on the palate, but this shortens up right after the fancy attack. Amazing for a village wine but you are sure paying for it.

Possible touch of TCA.Great fruit, spice, lush and balanced. Long, long finish. The palate is so good, the touch of TCA did not bother me.

With notes of brown sugar, spice, coffee, licorice, red and dark berries and earth, the wine started off well. But after 45 minutes to an hour in the glass, the tannins were noticeably drying and green flavors appeared in the finish.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL) : Tasted double blind. Intense black and red cherry aromas with alluring, classically Vosne spice. Mostly red fruit flavors, great textures and persistence. Long and intense start-to-finish, incredibly impressive for villages level wine.

Pop and pour. I guess I'll pile on the praise for this absolutely stunning bottle of wine. Is this really village level? I am getting aromas of a red fruited stock reduction that has cooled and mellowed into something that just lingers. I cannot believe the quintessential Vosne baking spice! I just exudes, in a very proper way, sweet cinnamon, gingerbread, sweet garam masala, in an utterly captivating melange. While it is feminine and willowy, it is also strong and …

This is nothing short of stunning. What an effort for a village wine. I hereby place Leroy first in the hierarchy of Burgundy Domaines. Only problem is that Lalou is so expensive, but as she says "my wines are worth it".

God, is there anything more annoying than the bona fide awesomeness of Leroy's wines? It's like watching the Yankees win. This is a stunning Burgundy, as it should be for the price tag. I can't think of anyone else who makes a Vosne village that feels like a grand cru. It's pure silk and satin from the very first sip and so ethereal it seems equal parts liquid and mist. The house style here is often bold and muscular but …

Dark-medium ruby. Raspberry jam nose. Lots of fruit on the palate, with very fine tannins. A stunning wine.

Very clean and fruity on the nose, some violets and hint of oak after a while. Closed on the palate, firm tannins.
