Is premox a thing with Loire chenin blanc? Sour, vinegar, with a hint of a delicious complex chenin hiding somewhere underneath but not really drinkable

Honey, wool, vanilla, and fresh orchard fruits like green apple and pear. Creamy mouthfeel thanks to well integrated oak and bright acidity. Long, mineral finish. Elegant wine. Drink now - 2032. 92-93 points.

Lovely Chenin Blanc. Complex nose of apple cider, banana chips, coconut, and something on the green spectrum resembling shiso leaf. Medium weight in the mouth with lemon pith, ripe apples, and more green herbal notes. Good punch of acid on the attack but rounding out nicely on mid-palate with a long, lingering finish. Compelling.

Yellow/straw colour, big waxy nose with apples, wet wool, orange peel and tarragon. Powerful, dry wine with lots of yellow fruit, bruised apple and lifting acidity. Oxidative back note a bit like one finds in a decent champagne. Classy wine, masses of dense fruit. Perhaps the acidity is just a touch too rapier-like in this bottle but it does lift the fruit so well. Full but fresh at the same time.

Honey, wool, jasmine, spicy notes from oak, and lemon zest. Complex, with a creamy texture. Long, refreshing finish with lemon juice and lemon zest as well as citrus flowers. Drink now - 2031.

The nose on this one has wool for days. It’s not just that though, as the mix of fruits is plenty complex with hints of citrus, apricot and apple. There is also a minerally dimension to it for sure. Overall, very exciting. On the palate it is medium-bodied but quite complex, layered and expressive with an airy texture. The fruit expression is borderline mesmerizing also here but the finish has some tartness to it and cleans up nicely. At first …

Some medium hay color, quite a nice savory chenin profile on the nose, though shows some interesting crushed fruit as well; quite rich on the palate, has some weight and density, the richness is well balanced with good acidity, saline takes over as the fruit dissipates on the medium long finish. Quite tasty, if not overly complex at this young age.

First bottle from those bought on visit, 2021. Ripe and oily citrus on the nose, which follows through on the palate. Finely etched flavours here with gravel, gooseberries, hints of cashew nuts and brioche. Saline and smoke in back. Round and refined.

Better at room temperature and with some airtime. Fuller bodied. A really lovely honey / honeysuckle on the nose. similar on the palate with stewed red apples and nice balance of acidity. Enjoyable but did not grab me.

Long and expensive-looking cork. Presumably designed for ageing. Approachable now with 15 mins in the glass. Oxidised, bruised apple, chewy preserved lemon character. Constantly evolving in the glass as it warmed from fridge temperature and opened up. A connoisseur's wine, one to ponder, but probably not for everyone. I would guess upside.

The nose is just awfully classic with slightly moist wool written all over it. Other than that there is ripe yet sort of restrained fruit (apricot, tangerine, lemon), iodine and the tiniest hint of honey. On the palate it is medium-bodied with some viscosity. While dry is quite expressive and ripe with abundant fruit akin to the nose and judicious oak. There is an extremely attractive tangy edge to the fruit that peaks on the finish that has this awesome …

Straw colour with baked apple. The palate is glossy, broad and honeyed with ripe red, autumn apple fruits but crisp acidity too which provides a perfect counterbalance. Moreish and indulgent and really deserves to be served with white meat or robust fish.

Mid gold, autumn apple fruit with a hint of clove and honeyed notes. It’s dry but has lovely richness of baked apple with a saline, steely core. This is dry but the ripeness of fruit implies it’s sweeter than it is. Great with rolled, fillet of pork. Wonderful and many more years ahead of it.

Fabulous, classic Chenin nose, candle wax, crushed fruit, some aged lumber; plenty of moderately lush fruit on the palate, nice balance, long, enticing finish, with just a touch of mouthwatering tartness. Not overly complex, just deliciously bullseye Chenin Blanc.

Delicious. Outstanding. The dusty, chalk and mineral infused nose permeates every aspect of this wine drinking experience - a penetrating crisp acidity, bright and tart, quince, Granny Smith apple, citrus... and again, the limestone lingers on the tongue and palate, long, long, long. Rated +3 on a scale of -1 to +3.

At friends so no notes at the time. Really liked this but it needed a bit of time to hit its stride, so I'd recommend a short decant, maybe 30 mins. Classic dry Chenin with good ageing potential.

Powerful nose of green apple, stone fruits, and a slight hint of reduction - depth increased with warming. Crunchy and acidic at first, softening with air to reveal beautiful underripe white peach, lychee, and citrus on a really long and mouth filling finish. I regret opening this now. It’ll be a lot better in 5-10 years or more, but still fantastic.

Consumed at cool room temp over ~2 hours. As others have noted, this is excellent dry chenin blanc. Slightly golden in the glass. Bright acidity, medium-plus heft, delightful aromas and flavors which are a little hard to pin down - white florals/jasmine, pear, underripe green melon, pithy citrus, minerality and a little salinity (particularly on the finish). There was a persistent whiff of sulfur/reduction, but it was minor overall. The best white I've opened in a while, and I'm very …

It is a nice fresh multi dimensional wine. I enjoyed it - you will too. Just be aware that it may not integrate the alcohol perfectly. The wine is a little reductive (I get a whif of party balloons) and explodes with lemon, blood oranges, pear and spices and finishes with a wonderful salinity. It is almost a 92 point wine.

Superb Chenin character. Complex. Can be enjoyed now but will benefit from a couple years cellaring. A good all-rounder as both apperitif and dinner companion. The wife says, "Hmm, lovely. I'd fancy that with perch fillets or some grilled scallops."

More rounded and balanced than the 2017 that I had previously. Not as austere but not too ripe either, very good drive to the citrus fruit and a woolly texture to the wine that made it have good weight.
