Lovely carbonation at this age. Shocking actually. But very dark in color and almost cloyingly sweet stewed fruit and caramel flavors. A bit heavy, syrupy. Still, the flavors were quite pleasing, just missing that cleansing acidity. Couldn’t have more than a half glass.

Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of light golden colour, with wide watery rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of green fruit of apple and pear, citrus fruit of lemon, floral notes of blossom, autolytic notes of yeast and toast, mineral notes of chalky, sweet spice of ginger, pungent spice of white pepper. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry with high acidity, the wine has medium (-) alcohol, medium (-) body, with medium (+) flavours of …

I ordered the 90 Palmes d’Or for $110 but it was out of stock. So I ordered this wine for $100. The nose is interesting, fresh granny smith and tarte tatin, very fresh note and very mature sweet note are co-existing, also brioche and yeast. The palate shows a lot of sweet fruits and is delicate with nice small bubbles. It finished completely bone dry. A very nice fully matured Champagne that is drinking well.

Outstanding - holding up incredibly well. Slightly sweet fruit, delicate bubbles, toasted yeast notes on the nose. Veryb alanced. Very much alive still!

Golden color, really vibrant mousse, tons of tiny bubbles quickly traveling up the glass. Awesome nose, scents of sweet honey and exotic fruit. Good delicate prickly sensation on the palette, more of the excellent exotic fruit notes. Top notch, but a bit below Grande Dame 90 and William Deutz. Enjoyed this a lot!

Lovely golden hued color. Surprisingly fresh and bright with mellow mature flavors on the palate. Excellent. 2/02

Nose of brioche, honeycomb, mango, and hint of sliced apple, same on the palate, lots of tiny bubbles formed a lovely mousse, big body, very tasty, elegant, delicious with the shrimp, mouth filling, and a long finish and terrific aftertaste. My second of 3 bottles in the cellar.
