This is a wine full of energy and excitement. Subtle fruit notes of green apples and lemons, with a delicate creaminess in the middle and restrained residual sugar, which is immediately offset by lively acidity and chalky minerality. The wine has a long finish that is semi-dry rather than sweet. Another example of the great 2021 vintage on the Mosel. Very well done!

(95+ points) Hugely mineral, pungent & aromatic. Crushed stone, mint, lanolin, starfruit, talc, apricot, musky lime oil, tart & ripe creamy nectarine flesh & lavender. Violet, greengage, quince & carraway seed with a touch of almond paste, grapefruit oil & peach kernal. Unsweetened whipped cream, anise oil, egg custard & slightly smoky vanilla bean. Rasping saltlick crystalized ultra minerality. Plus plus intensity & concentration. Very big, steely acidity along with some nectarine skin like grape tannins & crushed oyster shell …

Young and taut, but delicious. I should have bought a bunch of these.

Was definitely open to early but still a wonderful glass. Fresh sweet fruit and flowers in the nose and taste at first and then the acidity kicks in with a lemon punch. Going to be even more wonderful than it is now.

Quite an unfortunate state for this wine I must find. Going by the MFW rating of 93 this should have been better, but maybe I am just beginning to realise that I'm no great fan of Kabinetts from 2021. Reason being that the wine felt very tight, linear, acid driven, despite the around 50g/L residual sugar (which I would have estimated much lower). It's more of a lean and mean wine that is very sharp and leaves your tongue tingling, …

Vintage check, loads of beeswax, very fresh, acidity driven lemonade, typical Wehlener nose, but still quite shut down, think there is some upside potential, wait another 2years. Now 91, expect 92-93 then.

[Various notes on bottles opened from late Oct through this weekend.] Dammit, I opened a few of the '21 Richter Kabs at various points and didn't keep specific notes - this was one of them, and while I don't remember flavour specifics or comparative preferences, I was REALLY impressed by the entire range with all the wines showing remarkable clarity and finesse , and a sense of weight/richness that seems as close to a classic Kabinett profile as we'll get …

A bit less demonstrative than the last bottle. Charming but a bit lighter, tart lemon finish.

Gelb grn transparent im Glas. Absolut auf der Fruchtseite, Sure im Vergleich zum Niederhuser Klamm von Dnnhoff kaum wahrnehmbar. Macht fr 21 schon richtig Spa.

(94+ Points) Best #MFR 21 Kab at #Massanois tasting (just edging out GH) Elegantly pungent. Sweaty lime flesh, waxy starfruit, tart apricot, aromatic lavender, kiwi, tart mango & grape blossom. Steely crushed rock/slate minerality. Power, breed & intensity. Big nose. Powerful palate; guessing high dry extract. Great, ripe acidity. Drinks fairly dry. Semi-spectacular, even this young (this was 24hr slow-ox) #YeahBaby!

Fairly light in touch with a nice freshness. Though somewhat lacking body/stuffing for me. (Might be contextual given that it was had in parallel with a Dopff Alsace Riesling). Good enough in its style but not sure I will pick up more.

Glassware: Zalto Universal Prep: Pop n' pour Pretty nose of ripe strawberries, yellow peach, lime zest, lemongrass, and a touch of cardamom. Similarly enjoyable upon tasting with lime peel and bergamot fruit upfront followed by lemongrass, vanilla, and wet slate. The prickly acidity and buoyancy of this wine on the palate leaves me going back for sip after sip, with lingering slate minerals and just a playful touch of whipped cream on the finish for some sweetness. Should age nicely …

Very pretty nose of violets strawberries lemons, a hint of honey. More honey pear lemon grapefruit on the bright fresh palate. Tasty balance med+ length and good acid, dense with extract. This is a very good Kabi, so drinkable now, and will get better.

From memory, stellar wine, more like a traditional spatlese, but I guess this is now expected. Enjoyed with parchment-roast trout.

The German Crush Tour; 10/8/2017-10/16/2017 : It was a lot of fun to taste the feinherb and the "sweet" next to each other. This wine showed more apricot in addition to the floral and honeyed toches of the feinherb. elegant but ripe - an excellent classic spatlese for the price of a kabinett... yes, please.

A man's just gotta love his Rieslings. This classic example of Mosel is your go-to if you want to discover serious sweet wines and get off your dreaded Moscato train. Aromatic, mineral and fresh with piercing acidity that cuts the underside of your tongue like a jail razor. Its only flaw is that it could use more body and a better kick-start. Pairing with food is a must.
