St. Amant Winery Zinfandel Old Vines Marian's Vineyard Lodi

Slightly burnished dark red. Strong nose of freshly crushed raspberries, oak spice, and roses. Full bodied, cranberries, pepper, black cherries, sage, fully integrated tannins, smoke, and a long, somewhat sappy finish. A big Zin that delivers the goods.

Excellent Lodi zin

This is a big Lodi zin. 15.8%, and it tastes like it; lots of flavor and body. A very woody flavor, but the oak is not well integrated. I used to drink this wine fairly often; not sure if the wine has changed or my tastes have, but I don't remember it being so over the top.

What every great Lodi zin aspires to be but this one delivers a level above! Fruit forward but yet very smooth on the palate even with 15.8 percent alcohol! Notes of oak and chocolate and spice. Simply amazing. I need to order a case.

Huge! Loads of dark cherries, sweet tobacco, black pepper, olives, allspice, and cloves with a powerful, acidic finish. Sit this down for at least a couple of years. My favorite Marians to date.
