At its peak, wonderful aromas of muted fruit and earthy tones.

Entering its prime drinking window. Quite delicate Nebbiolo notes with subtle tannins. Not a great vintage but positively classical expression of a „Barolo to be“.

M8 Barolo 2014 magnum. Elegant, ren deilig frukt. Sødmefull og smooth anslag. Bra kons og frisk syre. Virkelig lekkert. På den unge siden, men ingen skam å drikke i dag. Lang med et herlig bitt i de fine tanninene. 92-93p

Couleur assez claire, brillante, champignons, foin, épices, menthe, massepain, bouche fruitée, racée, tannins fins, belles longueur, très bel équilibre, un beau vin très agréable aujourd’hui mais avec un potentiel certain

Similar to last note, it even gained some additional depth. Quite a long future ahead, should keep my remaining bottles.

Wish I took detailed notes but the depth of the nose and sweetness of tannin are so impressive for this difficult vintage. A big step above the 2014 langhe nebbiolo bottlings from some of my favorites producers like G. Rinaldi, Cappellano and Canonica.

Quite fascinating new kid on the block. Tried the 15,16,18 Barolo with Alan in his „garage“ winery in Monforte and took a few bottles of his 13, 14 pre Barolo experiements back home. This 2014 Nebbiolo was built up in Maria Theresas cellar. It comes from 3 different crus from Monforte, Serralunga and Castiglione. Very serious bouquet of flowers, red fruits and herbs. With Alan Nice florals on the nose with violets more than rose, cooler cherry fruit. On the palate, this has a freshness and asnese of miner laity and focus that is admirable. This walks the line of freshness without austerity in 14 very well. Excellent perfume, balance and poise. I'm impressed.
