Quite youthfully translucent ruby. Closed at first but after 60 min it’s opening up well. Chelsey says dusty sharp rose petals I get the roses and also tar and smoked meats. Medium body filled with spices and some game. Mainly red friuts. This is really growing on me. I have revised my score up a few times while writimg this note.

Nebbiolo night on 17 May 2018 (Winil, Moscow) : 93/100 Aged Tre Vigne is a beauty, quite similar to good Baroli. Red brick color, with a hint of wet wood, dark berries, leather, tar, and forest floor. Let it breathe for some time, it becomes bright, intense, and overpowering. We opened two different bottles on Thursday, as we could not find a magnum - the one with a wetter cork definitely underwent a faster aging, and was a star - …

Soft, polished and easydrinking, with a bit oaky aromas. Good concentration. A bit commercial and not as good as the 2006 tasted four years ago.

The wine looks brick colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like prune, plum jam, forest floor and mushroom. It tastes like prune, forest floor, espresso and oak. Well balance, age well, enjoy the wine

Much more in this wine than the Travaglini 1999 Riserva tasted alongside. This could pass for a good Barbaresco. Very nicely extracted - red fruity - roses if that is what it is - with fine balance and considerable length. That said, I'm giving this an added say two points based on cost - about $27.50 seven years ago. Price matters for most of us, and this delivers great QPR in the context of Nebbiolo wines.

Nice easy drinking wine. Medium bodied. Little sweet, red fruit. Day 2: The wine is much more developed. Roses, well developed, still strong tannins with good acid. 2 more points on day 2 (88).

Everything is nice and soft in this wine. Medium bodied. Very well balanced. Mainly red fruits. Good acidity and bitterness. It is all very smooth and the lack of real complexity holds the score down. Certainly a very pleasant wine.
