Château Grand Bert St. Émilion Grand Cru

Very balanced, structured, but not too tannic, with fruit notes throughout. Overall, a surprise for this 14 year old wine! I had lost it in my inventory -- so it was a pleasant surprise.

Not bad. Very little nose. Vinturi and decanted for one hour. Medium body with good fruit and not too much oak. Reasonable value.

2003 Saint-Emilion Château Grand Bert Owned by the same family that provides us with our Côtes de Castillon reviewed above, Grand Bert is a 15th century mansion surrounded by vineyards planted with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The 2003 vintage shows wonderful fruit, smoked meat, tobacco, and lovely earthiness with a solid tannic core.
