Domaine Vincent and Sophie Morey Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Le Charmois Blanc

Chambolle-Musigny 1er (but not Amoreuses) (La Voile) : LT Chambolle dinner at La Voile Enjoyed the previous bottle more, even though the charming apricot and lychee flavors were still there, they were marred by unmistakable corked nose.

Golden yellow Honey and tropical fruit nose More honey with pear and lychee on the palate. Cognac-y oak notes. Muted acidity. To me this wine is characteristic of Le Charmois which I’ve always loved. Long and quite mineral finish.

Opened and drank yesterday. Quality Chardonnay. More malo than I was expecting. The oak was restrained. Definite minerality to mark it as a Burgundy. Would certainly drink again.

Pale, stray yellow color. Minerality and gunpowder in nose at first, then after some time in the glass more floral and honeydew melon and touch of coriander. On the palate very too young and yet closed. However gentle melon and green pear fruit that feels well. The finish is slightly flat and with a short and little bitter acidity. All in all, this is a very nice Saint Aubin in the making. I will be drinking the remaining bottles 2-8 …
