Olivia Brion Pinot Noir Wild Horse Valley

Earthy with dark raspberry, cucumber, caramel, touches of smoke and cocoa, silky tannins, well-balanced, long & lingering finish. Excellent with steamed pork burgers topped with sautéed onions & mayonnaise.

I was really surprised with this pinot, massive pinot, dark berries, nice touch of spice, long lasting finish. No bricking , drinking beautifully for an aged Cali pinot.

- Ruby color with fast forming legs and aromas of blackberry, raspberry, cherry, cloves and cedar. It's balanced and has flavours of cherry, raspberry, cloves, cedar and oak with a medium/full body. Round texture with a long finish - Had with feta/spinach stuffed, grilled pork tenderloin. After 45 minutes in the decanted, this wine opened up beautifully. Quite complex with nice depth.

Quick TN: Popped and poured after draining the 06 BC Melville pinot. This wine had more heft than the BC - darker fruits, almost meaty by comparison, but not in a big, overblown, syrah added kind of way. There was more earthiness to this bottle as well. Nice pairing with grilled ham steaks.

Quick TN: Rhubarb, raspberries and a little pinot funk. A little heat on the back end, but not too distracting. Another good pinot from Olivia Brion.
