Brilliant! Notes of pear, honey, peach. Piercing acidity to balance a surprisingly rich Spatlese. Bravo to the winemaker.

Glass: Zalto Bordeaux Popped and poured, drunk over multiple days. Clear, suprisingly deep golden color. Clean, intense, bold, powerful nose with pear, quince, mineral notes. On the palate more like a declassified Auslese, creamy intense, powerful. Very good balance of sweetness and acidity. Complex, long. No need to hurry, potential for at least another decade. 92-93

Oh my god, wow, best riesling I've ever had. Absolutely amazing wine. There is so much depth and character here. It's a little fungal and herbal, a touch of smokiness, incredible rich honey and toffee apple. Complex but deliciously approachable. Superb acidity and weight. It just feels so effortless and light. The only thing stopping me going higher than 95 is the finish, which is a little bit short (for a >95 wine, still great though). I opened this thinking …

2nd bottle was better than 1st, purchased from online auction, delivered to locker. Better, tasted good, clean.

Taste a little off, bought it from a online auction, not really sure this was properly handled/stored. I have had bad rieslings (Kerpen) from this online auction (had most of the label fall off), and they put it back for auction. The price was way too good.

At a wine tasting. One of my favorites. Mushrooms, canned asparagus and sous bois. Wonder how this will age - pretty sure it will fare well but can't wait to find some more petroleum notes in this. The fruit is pineapple. Lovely Bottle opened for a week and now it is all about the raspberries. However, think some of the spritz is gone and acid isn't as powerful. In general I find that white wines don't fare as well once …

Might be the perfect (young) Spätlese. Vibrant acidity with a beautiful sweet aftertaste. Perfectly balanced. Lots of cellaring potential (I'd say easily 30+ years), but just so damn good that I doubt my remaining bottles will last that long.

Just as lovely as last week were it not for the extremely hot weather - hard to keep the temperature reasonable. This wine sings at max 12 deg celsius, prefer 10 deg. Fabulous wine!

Absolutely fantastic. Struggling for words. This wine changes during the evening but at PnP you are greeted to the finest of sous bois and mushrooms, then it changes and weak but elegant petrol notes (boat-diesel) emerge and after an hour the depth arrives. I sometime describe it as canned asparagus. And this is magic. It makes the wine complete. Comparing wine to hifi - many wines can treat you to accurate treble and a lot of bass but few wines …

AP 18. I can’t say that on initial tasting I even thought this was by Zilliken. Usually their Spatlesen have a brilliant minerality and a bouant energy to them, and there’s some cut to be had, but it exhibits the somewhat awkward flavor profile of a lot of 2017 Riesling where it seems a bit tart and almost hollow on a good portion of the pallet. It’s not lacking in acidity, it just seems unbalanced and a bit strange. The …

[06 18] Tasted after Rausch Kabinett. 80gr residual sugar, just 2gr less than 2017 Rausch Auslese. More intensity than the Kabinett, the additional sugar is more than balanced by wonderful acidity. Lots of minerality, herbal and floral notes. Almost weightless, very elegant with oodles of character and finesse. Very long. Near perfect Spätlese! 94-95+
