Its glory dates are behind it. I have been through several of this vintage and unfortunately this one is sliding downhill. I will admit that I have not stored this properly, it has been at room temp since purchase, so if you have some in your cellar and it has been at the right temp you may get another year or two out of it. It still had a nice taste and a mild tannic finish, and was enjoyable to …

Bold and approachable tannins supported by dark fruit, dried herbs and prominent earth tones. Definitely an enjoyably different wine.

Decanted 1/2 hr. This bottle aged well with bright, consistent tastes of darker fruits with a nice long finish. Acidic with medium to low tannins.

Gorgeous and powerful licorice, plum, warm spices, and earth on the nose. The licorice rolls on on the palate, joined by bacon fat and more warm notes. Add some bramble berry. Tannins are chewy, alcohol and acidity are nicely balanced. Finish is medium [+].

Very nice red blend from Seghesio; may be edging a bit toward the latter part of its window for this vintage. Went very well with our tri-tip dinner.

Cork broke on opening. I did not take notes. Drank over two nights with night two better. I remember it being smooth. Fruit balanced with structure. Good finish.

My last bottle. Tears flow. Holy cow this has become exceptional. Soft plums on the nose with a hint of spice and creme de menthe. Drank over two nights with the wine just improving. Smooth, dark fruit, tart but not overly so. Incredible structure for its age. I could have let this go another few years. 30 second finish with lingering chocolate and spice. If you still have one, message me as I would buy it!! Great stuff. Bravo Seghesio!

Decanted for 2h. A chorus of vibrant red fruit, red and dark cherries, oak and mineral. At first lots of alcohol on the nose, but this blew off after 2-3h. Nice acidity and soft tannins. Expertly made and now well integrated. Long finish. With Chinese food. This is drinking amazingly well right now, I expect it has 3-5 more years left.

Winery tasting. Blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Sangiovese. Dark, fuller bodied. Nice dark berry and red cherry fruit flavors that pair well with Salami. Nicely balanced.

Definitely can go for another few years. Decanted for an hour and benefited from additional breathing over the next couple of hours. Good one... Will sit on the last bottle for another couple of years

Drinking well right now but seemed slightly just past peak. High alcohol really comes through, especially after being opened for a few hours. Would be great with a simple snack like chunks of parmigiano reggiano.

This bottle of wine has been kept at 55 for the last 7 years. Cork broke in half when removing. Dark stain on the cork with very little bleed. The wine was decanted with a ton of sediment. The nose out of the bottle showed some age, but still very lively with black cherry, red fruit, but had a very dark fruit "base." Front was mostly aged blackberry and fig. The mid-palate turned darker with a lot of gritty black …

Enjoyed at Zambrano Wine Cellar in Fort Worth. Second bottle of the night. This one was pulled out and I had no idea even existed - a 60/40 cab/sangiovese blend. Uncorked to a lovely ruby stain with little bleed. Poured into the glass with a darker red hue. The nose was age, but seemed to show some mixed emotions. I was getting some raspberry and bing cherry AND blackberry together. On the palate was a medium to full bodied wine …

Omaggio (Homage) perfect wine to toast our Dads on Father's Day... Lovely understated nose of cherry and dark fruits with hints of mocha and leather. Medium length finish. The words used by everyone to describe this wine were "smooth and balanced" This wine has really come a long ways in the 4yrs it spent in our cellar.

OCP4W V (WCC in Irvine, CA) : Oak bomb central right here. American oak all over the nose, with hints of rose petals and black cherry hiding behind. Medium bodied on the palate, with loads of oak; tannic; hints of funk, tar, and raisins beneath the wash of oak; 15% alc.; this has the structure to ride longer, but I wonder if the oak will ever go away.

OC Poker for Wine V (Wine Cellar Club, Irvine, CA) : Tons of vanilla, sweet oak, and cedar on the nose with only hints of plums and blackberries. Unfortunately, this translated to the palate as well and it was just too overoaked for me. Even with some extended air time this only integrated slightly allowing some of the dark fruit flavors to come forward. Although this isn't my style of wine flavor wise, I can feel the quality in the …

Clear rim. Slightly cloudy garnet in the center. Cedar-Cherry nose. Bit muddy. Dry. Showing a little more residual tannin than the Shafer Firebreadk 1995 tasted alongside. Also past its prime.

No formal notes. Drinking well right now but very tight right out of the bottle. Needs at least an hour of decant time which unfortunately we did not give. The wine was just starting to shine by the time dinner was over. Will only approve with more time in the bottle.
