PnP but better after 20 minutes of slo-ox. The color was deep purple to a fading rim. The nose offered up lots of dark fruit and a bit of earth. The palate was medium plus bodied and offered the same dark fruit - blackberry, black cherry, raspberry - along with spice, cocoa and a bit of earth and minerality. The acidity was up to the task of balancing all of this fruit and the tannins were well integrated. A crowd …

Just a tad less than exceptional. Great quality, well balanced, approaching resolved, yet nicely robust. No alcohol burn, nice, medium length finish. Will definitely impress guests. Enjoyable!

Very expressive nose with dark cherries and pout pourry. Dark ruby in color. Nice acidity, dark cherries, black currants, tobacco leaves, dense, fruit driven with low tannins, well integrated, with spice and oak on the long ending. This evolved nicely from since I had the first bottle - it’s in a very good spot and very enjoyable. The concentrated flavors of Mt Veeder definitely come out now, and this will plead fans of bold Napa cabs.

Opened this on Thanksgiving , went toe to toe with a few bottles well over $100. And comported itself very well. Plummy nose, then supremely rounded palate with stewed fruit, some meat, minerals, and a hint of bramble. Super right now, and playing well above price point .

With Lynn for Mother's Day. Nice cab. Well-integrated, well-balanced a little stingy on the aroma, but flavorful, with lingering fruit and pepper.

Garnet to the rim. Muted nose. Nice red fruits to soft tannins across the pallet to a medium finish. Suspect this is one to drink young

Wine has matured over the past few years. Fruit is very forward and bold. Drinking wonderfully. Nice long finish.

Opened after the pop in 20-min. Dark crimson-purple color. The nose brings ripe red cherries, chocolate raspberries, mint, menthol, and eucalyptus. The palate is full, round, creamy, and silky, bringing an upfront surge of blackberries, blackcurrant, chocolate cake, and coffee bean followed by a red currant, raspberries, tobacco notes, and sweet cherry pie into a woody, velvety finish. Good balance (did not notice the alcohol) and juicy acidity, but this is a heavily manipulated style. Drink 2021-2030. Technical score: 91. …

Currants notes all over. Good nose, fruit is prominent, nice ending with grippy tannins. Revisit in 2 years.

Actually, quite good for a $30 bottle. Not overly complex, but a big wine with a lot of dark, brooding flavor. If you like mountain fruit, this seems to fit in that category. Drink now. No reason to hold this one.

Tasty cab! Opened up very nicely over the course of an hour or so. Not much complexity here, but good fruit and decent QPR (for Napa).

Not a good nose. Heavy on the black fruit. (Blackberry, plum) Improved after open 30 min, but too sweet for me.

Typical Californian Sab Sav but in a nice way. Manages to handle its 15% alcohol rather well. Smooth, broad and full of blackberry and cassis fruit.

Napa dirt, blackberry and cassis on the nose. On the palate, there's dark fruit, macerated cherry, chocolate and a plummy backnote that leads into course tannins. Finish is medium length. Overall, the wine is nicely balanced and enjoyable. It paired with red meat.

Opened 24 hours before drinking. Deep magenta color. Fruit forward, but cardboard note sneaking in that suggests this is fading. Smooth palate with good acidity. Round tannins on the medium long finish. This is excellent for the price, but relatively simple.

Served a bit too chilled. Dark garnet color. Red fruits and a tinge of alcohol on the nose. Soft or thin initial mouth feel leading to strong tart green pepper and gripping, long lingering tannins. Interesting drink. Maybe not my favorite cab but has some strong character. Probably needs some time to mellow out.

Sweet, ripe fruit dominate. Blueberries, blackberries, with a huge creaminess and Graham crackers. The result is a wine that reminds me of a cheesecake with blueberry compote. There are fine, chewy tannins and some acid to provide some balance. I enjoy it, personally. Sure it's a little syrupy but the fruit is huge and its enjoyable. My sense of the notes on this wine are consistent, but the preferences for the style vary as does the price paid. At 20 …

Deep garnet in colour, this is a full bodied dry wine. The high tannins and acidity are delicately balanced but the wine could still benefit from decanting prior to serving to help it open up to its full potential. Full of pronounced black fruit aromas, bramble fruit, some stewed fruits, a touch of tobacco, vanilla, and sweet spices. This is a big step up from its little brother (the Hess Collection Cab). Not a typical Tuesday wine.

Well....dark fruit vanilla to the nose. Heavy cherry plum jam to the initial palate...where in lies the problem. Initial impression is this guy is going to be a run of the mill cali fruit bomb but then...charging up from the back palate. SO MUCH OAK reminding you that there is no way this guy will let you enjoy the fruit...a virtual oak slap down carrying with it a med plus finish..
