Very good bottle. It was very accessible with PnP. Blackberries, black cherries, black currants, violets, earth/gravel/tar, meat, garrigue. I liked this bottling much better than the basic Bandols that I have had from them.

Thursday Night w/ Bob (My Place - Washington, DC) : Popped and decanted, this got better and better over the course of the evening. Nose of black cherries and blackberries, lots of violets, granite, tar, coffee and bloody steak. With air, complex meaty notes come out more and more. Still hard but accessible, although the acid is a bit low for my tastes. Dark and plummy, but the fruit takes a back seat to the meaty, brothy, savory and spicy …

Initial scent gave off notes of brett, sort of funky. You could still taste what this wine had to offer but it was hard getting around the funk. I will have to purchase another bottle to see whether this one was bad or not.

Better than the basic 05 Tempier -- definitely more funk (brett & ?) but also more complexity and better balance. If you like classic Bandol reds you will probably like this quite a bit.

A deep wine with black fruit, herbs, and underbrush reminiscent of many a southern French grenache or mourvedre. Nice long finish and good balance. Good QPR.

Notes from day 2. Dark purple to black color. Shy nose at first, but then opens up to be the highlight blackberries, with maybe a little dried flower, herb, graphite, little coffee grind. On the palate there is a little blackberry, then dried herbs, coffee, tar, lower quality worn leather, and a ton of tannin left that still has a touch of bitterness. The finish is average besides the tannins which stays with you a while and the balance is …

Bandol Bliss (Weygandt Wines, Cleveland Park, Washington D.C.) : Beautiful dark purple in color, this wine has a really complex nose. Dried herbs including sage and rosemary combined with espresso grinds, hazelnut, tar, and underbrush. Really beautiful, complex nose. The mouthfeel is powerful and dense while delivering an impressive finesse. Cannot wait to let my bottles sleep for a long time.

good medium-full bodied funky Bandol that is drinking very well. dark red fruits and leathery, barnyard-y, distinctly Bandol aromas. really no need to cellar further unless you don't have any Tempier tucked away.

Popped and poured with dinner. A very enjoyable food wine. Aromas of sage and dark fruits on the nose. Great mouthfeel. Tannins are still a little rough but balances well with fruit/mouthfeel. Should be even better in a year or two.

plenty of tannin and a mouthful of dark, funky bandol fruit. medium bodied and young but perfectly drinkable. reminds me a bit of Terrebrune but with more substance.

Epic Bandol Tasting with the Wine Guild of Charlottesville (Guild Office) : Talk about a sea change---same producer, different year, select grapes---magic! This was one of my top picks of the night (for the money, it's at the top). Huge, complex, leaping out of the glass with classic Mourvedre aromas of...sage, rosemary, graphite, dry earth, hot stones, grilled meat, old caves, must, cassis, figs...I could go on. There's so much for everyone in this wine, and what's more, it really …

This wine was opened and poured. On both the bouquet and palate the wine showed very ripe compenents that were diminished by the disjointed nature of the wine and its brett level. The aromatics show black fruits, tar and leather along with animal fur and band-aid. The color is a dark red to purple. The medium/full bodied palate shows dense fruit, tannins and good structure. It lacks some balance and the animal fur / band aid theme distracts from the …
