Domaine Debray Volnay 1er Cru Santenots

Red fruit, earth, pleasant kick of acidity on the finish. A little rustic but I like the transparency as well as the focus it has retained with age.

balanced. fruit has faded from prior bottle, but tannins have softened and nice acidity and long finish. Liked this a little better in 2016 but still solid effort and pleasing wine.

nose of ripe cherry, cocoa, some warming spices, palate full, and pleasant, nice balanced acidity, but less fruit than i hoped for. day two, nose less pronounced, but still drinking well.

Enjoyed with salmon, green beans, baked potatoes, and salad. Classic black cherry and kirsch, nice acids, mineral, fine grained tannins. 3 different scores: 88, 90, 93 average to 90. All of us enjoyed the wine very much.
