Might have waited too long for a Merlot.

Ripe, dark fruit and low tannins is my sweet spot and this fully hits the mark. Even though it is four years beyond the drinking window, it’s wonderful. The color is pure Homer’s sea. The nose is bright autumn. The mid palate is smooth followed by a long deeply satisfying finish. Wish I had bought so much more when I visited the winery.

Oxidized - cork was brittle and shattered; wine was lifeless and murky.

PNP - Wow this is singing. Currants, cassis, blackberry with a mature cedar box flavor. I think it has room to continue maturing but this is at peak for my palate.

Beautiful and in balance. Just finishing it's time here but still lovely.

Smooth, nice dark fruit mixed with spice, soft tannin. Very much enjoyed this. Decanted for roughly 30 mins and drank over an hour and a half. This didn't show much evolution over that time and probably would have drank pretty well straight from the bottle. 14.5% ABV

Smokey, fruity nose. Currents, dark chocolate, then cinnamon. Good acidity. Well balanced. Gorgeous. Has to be consumed now. Buy again. Jarvis comes through again.

Thanksgiving 2015. Decanted about half the bottle an hour or so before serving. Very earthy and dark fruit on the nose. Mellow fruit flavors, and great earthy, chewy flavors. Hints of chocolate and coffee, maybe even some pencil lead. Really great wine and a great compliment to the feast!

- Garnet color with medium forming legs. It's high in alcohol and has flavours of black currant, blackberry and raspberry with a medium body. Juicy texture with a long finish - I am not a huge Merlot fan but this is delicious wine. Wonderful nose. Deep backbone with a nice long finish.

Very nice wine, though I don't think it warrants the price; nice balance and held its frame for 24 hours. Blue fruit and some back vanilla.

Tasted this wine in the Jarvis tasting room after an excellent tour of the property. Wine was delicious. Brought home, stored at 58 degrees for two years. Opened it and it was flat, boring, uneventful and clearly not something I would have bought. Cork was fine, no noticable "burnt" color on the edge, not much of a nose. I have to think this particular bottle was flawed.

Medium dark, garnet red. Big dark fruit aromas blended with a presence of cloves. Well balanced with oak characters of leather and tobacco complementing fruit flavors that translate right from the nose.

The wines of Jarvis (Minneapolis) : Too much Eucalyptuses for my palate. Also spice, floral, mint and subtle fruit come together and it has a medium finish. Really not my style of Merlot

Had at winery and not sure how long it was open. Lots of black fruit and a long, long finish. Enjoyed enough to buy the reserve of the same vintage without tasting.

The aroma is full of vanilla extract, graham cracker, some tar, a little tobacco and cherry. It's obvious the wine has a great oak influence. However, it's not overtoasted nor smoky; it's not overextracted nor overripe (which are red flags for me in a wine made in this style). It just happens to be more present now due to its youth. It is still a very elegant wine that is extremely rich. Furthermore, as it opened the fruit began to …
