Lacking anything. Just kind of flat.

Good. Possibly as good as the Rully from kaufhof. Worth buying again.

Hard to believe this was only $20. Big, dark, dense nose and palate. Lots of concentrated tart fruit and oak. Baking spice and a whiff of cherry pie come through as well. I wouldn't say this is too young to drink but with the grippy tannins it still could use a few years. A super fun, easy drinking wine that clearly states its origins.

Deeper in colour and fuller in body than the Becker family "Pinot noir" of a couple of days ago. Bright and fresh Pinot flavours with quite some cherry, minerals and lively acidity together with some underlying roundness and fair length. A good+ generic Rully not vastly inferior to a 1er cru from the likes of Jacqueson and Dureuil.

THIRSTY THURSDAY @ Shrugging Atlas: Your basic burgundy, alas I'm not a big fan of the forest floor or mushroom earthiness on the nose. Drinkable of course, but out of the 5 Pinot Noirs tasted this one was #4 for me. BUT I will say, I DO NOT like the earthy flavors, if you do give this one a go.

Man, the notes on this wine are brutal! Let me be a dissenting voice. Sure, there's a ton of acidity. It's a Cote Challonnaise village wine, there's going to be acidity. Are there some green notes? Yes! But there's also lovely cherry fruit that gains sweetness with air, and earthy undertones. I found this delicious, and unbeatable for the price.

Disappointed by this given that 2010 was such a good year. Not truly terrible as inexpensive red Burgundy goes. But after nearly 4 years ageing you'd expect a little less shrill acidity and lean green tannins and a little more in the way of fruit and flavour. If it hasn't blossomed by now, will it ever?

Wine Education Service - Burgundy - The Côte Chalonnaise (LSE) : Light, translucent, a hint of age. Inviting scent, fruit with a little vegetal development. Fruity, with acidity but short on tannins, simple acceptable taste.

I was very unimpressed with this wine. It seemed very unbalanced with too little fruit. It seemed very acidic and did not taste like a typical burgundy. I was sruprised and disappointed since I have found Joseph Drouhin to be a reliable source of nicely priced Montrachet wines. the color was light red. There was no bouquet

Vanilla and melon bouquet. Not oaky but fuller than some.
