Opaque garnet colour. Mushroom, dried currant, new leather, nut, and chocolate ganache nose. Full and lush palate with elegant tannins, complex flavours and a quality minerality that peeks out on the finish. 4.5/5

Very nice, balanced, smooth. Easy to drink without food, but also went well with appetizers at a holiday party. Highly recommend.

Lots of sediments inside this bottle. Aromas of dried forest floor, oak, pepper, iron, smoke, caramel, and dried fruit are present. There are more secondary and tertiary flavours with hints of perfume and plum.

M+ body, soft muddled fruit and a bit of cocoa, the alcohol doesn’t show too much until the finish but this is anonymous stuff, if drinkable.

This one surprised me - it's proof that cost and quality don't always align. Great Wednesday night wine served with dinner. Taste of strawberries and cherries. Tannins were nicely faded, and overall feels like this wine will fade away in the next 1-2 years. Glad I caught it a good time.

Académie des Cinquante Saint-Emilion Tasting (Restaurant Bolenius *, Amsterdam, NL) : Tasted blind twice. (1, wine 5) Youthful, lots of cherries on the nose, floral, finely grained tannins, transparent, not very complex, cool, 90. (2) Youthful appearance, ripe cherries on the nose but quite drying and raw on the palate, lacks charm, 89. Bottle difference?

Cotes de Bordeaux Trip; 7/23/2019-7/27/2019 : Concentrated black and red currant fruit on the nose with iron, black pepper, menthol. Well-built, moderate tannins and medium/low acidity. Tart dark currants with chocolate and graphite notes. This is put together well but it needs time to unwind.

A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, 60% new oak, 14.5% ABV. Lovely weight of ripe, black Merlot fruit, nothing overripe or tarry, floral lift, hint of (well-integrated) spicy oak, tobacco, very good depth, carries its alcohol well, soft and fleshy texture but with good freshness and tannic grip thanks to balancing peppery Cabernet Franc, good precision, the finish is still a bit tight, with a touch of alcoholic warmth. Académie des Cinquante Bordeaux visit; 9/20/2017-9/23/2017 : Lovely lift on the floral nose, red berry fruit, fresh and mineral, hint of earth; mineral and elegant style, belies its 14.5% ABV, slightly tight but with lovely fruit, pure and intense flavours; good resonance and length.
