Excellent, smooth, ~oaky, aged, approachable

Deep, dark reddish-purple in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & cassis with overtones of earthy/dusty & spice notes, anise, herbs, dark cocoa, roasted coffee beans, minerals & a slight hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with herbs, spices, minerals, cocoa & a touch of oak/vanilla. Chicago Gourmet Grand Cru (Harris Theater - Chicago IL) : Walk around tasting. Rich and fat, certainly very fun in its hedonistic style.

Very well made cab, lots of pencil lead and dark fruit. The 100% new French oak was very well integrated and barely perceived. Beautiful red mountain cab. Not worth the $170 for the bottle but a great wine.
