Lavau Gigondas

Not bad for 3% price of Opus.... still lots of life left. Took a few hours to open up in a decanter. Very good.

Liked this more than I thought. Raspberry, forest floor, minerals and a touch of tobacco smoke. Rock solid.

Blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre. The fresh, rich, and highly aromatic nose offers peppery spice, garrigue, and dark berry with earthy tones and touches of plum. The medium-full bodied palate is rich with a concentrated mouthfeel and spicy, dark berry flavours supported by refined, structured tannins and fresh, lively acidity. Medium-bodied, soft and juicy, there is a big kick of garrigue here from start to finish. The wine blends 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre.
