This was really good straight after opening. Drank with Greg and Jami. Thankfully it was ready as we opened a 2015 King Coal that needed time to open up

Deep ruby with a hint of bricking at the rim. Still good ripe dark cherry fruit with some spicy notes but maybe past its peak at this point.

So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030 : Opened a few hours before thanksgiving dinner. Dark in the glass and initial nose of prunes and stewed fruit. It opened up a bit and was delicious with the food, and even so with some of the desserts. But overall, it was more on the stewed fruit/cranberry side and the longer it was in my glass the more it fell off. Didn’t finish my glass after my plate was empty. Drink up if …

So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030 : This wine was really tasty. Nice color in the glass, very slight bricking. Great red fruit, fresh, some cluster and earthy notes. In a good spot.

Fully mature, bricking a bit in color. Lean notes of red plum, dried cherries, rhubarb and a hint of menthol. Opened up nicely after 2 hours in glass. Enjoy now.

Fifteen years on from our first visit to Archery Summit, whereat our love affair with Oregon PN began: the fourth stop on that first tour, a perfect day, the view of the Cascades (no fires then), the exotic tones of Alphonse pouring the Premier Cuvee into the Vinum Extreme, and we were Bad to the Beaune. So, to celebrate, Dulcie dumps the entire bottle into the pot roast without so much a taste remaining. I assume it will taste good; …

Nice ruby color. Beautiful aromas of red berries, rose and spice cake. Flavors of strawberry and raspberry, with virtually no oak at all. Medium bodied and still full of life! This 2008 is living up to its vintage lore.

Pop & pour at a French restaurant using cab. glass, I wished had a pinot glass that can capture the aroma and larger surface for quick oxidation. Beautiful bouquet of fine Burgundy with subtle jasmine and muscadet, sweet aromatic and fine acidity. Mid palate of well balanced and fine taste of burgundy earth, red fruit, and silky tannin. Long and inviting aftertaste. Noticed some fine and gentle bubbles after half an hour. Went well with varieties of vegetables, trout, chicken, …

Drink now. Brick red. Hints of mahogany, color intense and moving away from the rim. Dark, even for a New World Pinot. Expressive nose of mushrooms, earth and minerals nicely balanced with blueberry and red raspberry. Complex in the mouth with medium plus acidity and softening tannins. Full mouth feel in this very wel made wine. The finish is extended and turns slightly bitter which is surprisingly due to aging I believe. Has the lushness of a cuvée rather than …

(Mostly) Oregon Dinner at Cherry Circle Room (Chicago, IL) : The nose on this was quite stemmy and austere, but you could definitely a touch of tart red fruit hiding there. This had a good spice character to it, and I could pick up some herbal elements, as well as a touch of licorice and smoke. The palate was probably a touch sweeter than the nose would indicate. Not too complicated nor rich.

A bit of PNW salmon almost always calls for a PNW pinot. So into the cellar I dug for a Premier Cuvee. This wine from an earlier vintage was the one most responsible for our growing love affair with Archery Summit - was it the wine itself, Alphonse's dulcet French twang, the Vinum Extreme glasses, or the view down the vineyards across the Valley? - or perhaps all the above. Anyway, nostalgia aside, this is really excellent right now and …

A beautiful well-made wine. Medium red not opaque slightly moving away from the rim. Ready to drink. Subtle, perfumed nose. Typical Pinot. Light red cherry and clove. Medium weight, Velvet mouth feel. Soft tannins Marked acidity, tart, enough fruit to sweeten the structure. Medium finish, well balanced, well made. A cuvée blend, not as terroir distinctive as some other pintos.

Beutiful pinot with lots of fruit and a long spicy finish. I hold this one as one of the best balanced oregon pinots out there. Plum and red fruit filling the palate, black papper notes and a fresh hint of raspberry. drink and enjoy now.
