Deep red colour, almost opaque, with red brim. Nose is mature with notes of dried fruit, dates, underbrush and leather. Mouthfeel is mature, quite light and elegant, fresh, with fully integrated soft tannins, nice acidity and notes of dried fruit, prunes, dates and a touch of leather. I sense I like this wine somewhat more than most tasters. Indeed, I think my rating for it is only going up. It's in a beautiful place right now, five years out from vintage. 2019 was deemed an "Excellent" vintage in Rioja, and this wine shows that. From my own cellar and a cracking good wine. Colour beautifully fresh - bright dark cherry with crimson tinges. Needed about 20-30 mins in the glass to reveal its full beauty. Deep, balanced and structured. Great fruit - plums and mixed berries. Peerlessly structured. Sweet/warm spices and slight meaty savouriness. Superb.

Rioja - Winery Visits - November 2023 : Bright, full-ruby color. Aromas of red currant, cherry, pressed florals, black tea, spices, sandalwood. Refined fruit expression on the palate - red plum & cherry, very floral, with secondary tea spices and fresh herbs. Fleshy & smooth density, refined. Full, plush tannins and nice length.

Full-bodied, primary, concentrated, a lot of oak, dark berries, plums, and rounded tannins. This drinks now with a 2-hour decant but for me, this needs to tone down on most fronts. If I'm buying more, I'll cellar them for 5+ years.

Clear deep ruby. Ripe blackberry and thyme aromas joined later by citrus zest. Full bodied with a measured wood base. Concentrated, rich blackberry and black cherry with a good dose of herbal complexity, excellent complexity, and fine grained tannins. The wood imparts a strong flavor of ground coffee on the finish. Really excellent in a style that is more modern than traditional, and very open and appealing today.
