Served blind and it took a while but Ger Pinot finally came out. More blue fruited with hints of red fruit and some spice. Moderate depth and complexity - would have loved to see more. Felt at peak with no more upside. Drink now.

Very strange wine - I don't get the Pinot Noir at all but its good!! Still extremely young (this is ageing super well), on the austerity / seriousness side that I particularly like with a super freshness. Great discovery

Bought on release. Pop and pour and drunk over several hours. A little burnt rubber reductive notes on opening. These blow off leaving forest berry, a bit brambly on the nose, with black tea, some florals, wood, mace, and with time some earthy stemmy like notes. Sappy and broad on the palate, yet decidedly mid weighted with lovely texture. Some loamy and savory meaty- ferrous notes develop with air time and carry on to the palate. Quite long with cooling …

Short decant with wonderful nose of sous bois and fine tight elements showing. Drinking shortly afterwards this revealed a wine much to my liking; be it Dujac, Kelley Fox... a wine of great balance of tannin and acid, light bodied fruit and great spice element. Hitting its stride now. Can only say I wish I had more. So many notes of earlier consumption that had me worried, but no...great wine.

Far from being a "Burgundy like" Spätburgunder. The wine is ok but misses the often mentioned parallel with Chambolle liked wines. The clones of this vineyard are from German Spätburgunder and you taste the difference. The wine as a such is OK but far from being a Burgundy substitute. Great deception.

Keller Open Afterparty (Weingut Keller) : This is a very special Cuvee out of Dornfelder and Portugieser, Klaus-Peter Keller older son Felix "did" together with David Rayer (Mosel Fine Wines and a good friend of the Keller family). They labeled it under the name of Felix Keller. I think the wine didn´t go into the market. It was just for fun. The interesting thing is, that it was bottled without any sulfur. Although it is still very fresh and wonderful …

Bright, in full blossom, with the batch favorite German tones of skin, earth, prunes, spices. At over 3 hours of aeration was developing and not losing elegance. Great PinotNoir with character.

Ruby with light orange rim, at first reduced nose and with time and air offering earthy and spicy notes. Tobacco, minerals along with cherry, mulberry and dark fruit flavors nice acidity and softened tannins. Long and persistent finish. This is fully mature now with years ahead. -2020, I guess longer. This bottle was decanted.

Blind Dinner at Mark's (Chicago, IL) : Initially, this was restrained on the nose, red-fruited and moderately floral. The palate is quite drying with just a tad too much oak, though there is still a fair bit of red fruit and mineral. Moderate acidity. This doesn't have the earthiness that I'm used to in a Burgundy. However, based on the state of the palate, this did seem a little advanced for its age.

corked; still somehow drinkable, not so fat and full with overripe than normally, apart from the cork already too old (from very good storage, pretty lean strawberry fruit, a bit mundane, ludicrous high price; background info: I've never been convinced by Keller's Spätburgunders - far away from his Riesling qualities; without cork flaw perhaps 87 P

Helles rubinrot; Himbeere, Amarenakirsche, metallische Töne, altes Eichenfass; am Gaumen tänzerisch leicht; weicher, leicht schwebender Wein mit tollem, komplexen und langem Abgang; eine echte Offenbarung!

In the last few years, I`ve become a fan of German Pinot Noir and this reminded me of why; really good fruit, some character on the wild side including plum and black berry, sweet red and black cherry; full body and good length with all moving into the backend for continued pleasure; serving temperature could have been a bit cooler that the room temperature it was.

Dark in colour. Despite the request on the label of "bitte bekantieren", the initial impression of this wine is one of high-toned black cherries. There is an intense earthy aroma that evokes Chambolle, but comparing this to Burgundy is hardly fair to either party. The nose is alluring, and digging deeper there are some Christmas spices that lurk beneath. On the palate, this is very fleet-footed, with flavours of black cherry again. A little bit too much oak on the …

Very good Pinot Noir from the "Riesling Star" Klaus Peter Keller / Weingut Keller. Very well structured Pinot, with greeat depth and a huge purity of fruit and minerality.

Herbs, dark fruit, a hint of oak and good concentration make a very Burgundylike spätburgunder.

Surprising wine. Almost syrah like. Licorice and dark fruits. Lacked minerality and seemed a bit extracted.

Classic light colored pinot. Nose of steely minerals, rubber and light red fruit. Had good poise and elegance married to good levels of healthy fruit. Improved a lot with time and air. Not much development since the last I had about 9 months ago. Let them rest for 3-4 more years.

Weingut Keller Tasting (Dee Vine Wines, SF, CA) : Spicy, black cherry nose. Very aromatic, with some sweet oak notes. Lovely in the mouth, with crunchy fresh, sweet red fruit, earth and medium acidity. Lightly structured, with good length.

Medium ruby red. Delicious nose of red berries, red apples, rubber and minerals. Medium bodied this is smooth and very drinkable with good fruit, nice vibrant acid and light tannins. This is accessible today and in my view meant for medium term drinking - 5-6 years. Compared (from memory) with the Diel Cuvee Caroline 2005 this is more mineralistic and with lesser fat. The Cuvee Caroline has a slight edge over this one. It is equivalent to a good burg …

Light red. Performes well direct from bottle. Very complex nose with a bit of rubber and strange fruit. Finish is long and acidic. My guess is that this wine will improve greatly in years to come. Super wine appealing to the intellectual in winelovers.
