Decanted off fine sediment and drank over several hours. Put remaining half bottle into 375 ml bottle. Aromas of dark cherries, raspberries, bark and mild earth. Palate w tart red cherries, ripe cranberries, bark, green stems, and minerals. Somewhat elegant, medium-light body w excellent acids and mild tannins. Nice concentration. Moderately short finish. Tastes like a colder vintage wine w it's lean structure, tart red fruits, and greens stems. But imthey also work well together. Nice balance to the wine. …

Stood up for several weeks. Decanted off fine sediment. Now 3h after decant. Aromas of nice , almost seamless red cherries, bark, mild sous bois, mild loamy earth. Palate w tart red cherries, herbs, green stems, bark and a bit of wet earth. Med body w excellent acids with a mildly elegant texture. Mild+ tannins w the acids give a nice structure. Everything is nicely integrated. Fairly short finish. Drinking nicely. 91+

A pronounced streak of green pepper here. I've a reasonable tolerance for this, but prefer a bit more balance. A Lafarge Volnay from the same vintage two nights later was much more harmonious. Not sure whether more time will allow this to knit together - I suspect it is what it is.

This is sitting in a lovely place right now - as soon as the nostrils get the first hit from the glass you know this will be good. There is an earthy, soupy, feral quality in there that is restrained by the high toned cherry notes. Then, as with all Bachelet wines that I have had, there is a charcoal twang. Tasted over 2 hrs -med dark red purple minimal clearing -mild reduction blows off plum boysenberry -med+/high acidity carries through from entry to finish, med- weight tangy fading dark red/black fruit, med- tannins -has the bright acidity of the vintage and the dark fruit profile of Bachelet

Not as wonderful as the 2012, but, to confide , it stimulated creativity in my mind, as ideas for my next text surfaced seamlessly. When this occurs, and it does happen clearly from time to time like good fairies now making their presence flagrant I always wonder later whether it was just the wine alone or the timing of the wine and the circumstances at that particular moment.

I think the wine has closed down, with the fruit receding into the background and the lively acid and cedary tannin coming to the forefront. Hold, drink 2021+.

Weekly tasting group RWP #240: Burgundy 2011 (@ VD) : In the bouquet a lot of cherries, raspberries and herbs. Some coffee as well. On the palate cherries and red berries, minerals, green herbs. Good and juicy red fruits acidity like red currants. The tannin is a bit drying. Overall a full bodied wine with a touch of sweetness as well.

Full-grain leather, crunchy cherry, togarashi, violet. Light-medium bodied, with medium-plus acid. Finish is vibrant, stony, and refreshing. Very refined. This should be great in the near/medium term.

Very lean and green; smokey. Light body with excellent tension that cut through a creamy truffle dish. Curious to see how this develops.

This was from a discounted batch so I was warned in a way. I've had several vintages of this and this was not one the better ones. The problem is in the taste - its quite green, stemmy/smoky and a bit hollow. Nowhere near the beet soup of '04, but a bit strange anyway. Will wait a few years to see if something positive happens with the other bottle of this I have.

A-typical, maybe because it's young. Green and smoked tones on the nose with asparagus. Softens out with some air. Some 'problem' on the palate. There is fruit but some other strange elements require attention. I think it will be good but not at this stage.

Very enjoyable bottle of Burgundy. Well made and balanced. Typical pinot profile; more fruit than savory. Perhaps missing some of the complexity I would expect at this price point, but that's burgundy these days!

Normally I like young Burgundy. But this is totally closed. Wait or give it lots of air. After some time the nose shows the fragrance of roses, violets and some green tones too. Red berry flavours, tannins and nice fresh acidity. Wait five years or more, this wine will live for a long time.

Really enjoyed this. None of the strange pickle notes that were present in the 2010 I tasted. This was just pure pleasure in a bottle. Clean and crisp with considerable freshness.

Gorgeous clear ruby to the rim. Pungent cherry aromas. Ripe, sappy cherry flavors backed up by earth, gravel and licorice undertones. Rich and spicy. Expensive as hell for what it is, but also undeniably impressive for this level.
