The wine evolved over the course of about 2 hours in the decanter and most of the VA blew off revealing a long if subtle wine which paired well with food, but wasn't particularly captivating. This medium-to-deep garnet wine was splash-decanted and serially tasted over the ensuing two hours, during which time it continued to improve. Despite a color that would make it appear to be more evolved, it is a fresh Brunello that delivers lots of youthful red fruit that is accented with pickling spice, savory herbs and dried earth.
