Subsequent notes on this wine from over five years ago. Dark garnet in color with slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, spices, herbs, tobacco, cocoa, leather, tar, iron, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Full bodied with very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & plums with …

starting a slow decline. i found a bottle a few years back overly tannic but this has now mellowed. Some bricking, classic brunello character, but lacking some punch on the finish. but a very nice bottle to enjoy. dont decant.

Opened two bottles because the first one was corked and was discarded. As for the second bottle, on the first night it was unpleasant. Had a harsh, green pepper or grass aspect to it. But 24 hours later I found the bottle in the living room, having been left opened, with nearly a glassful still remaining in it; and over the 24 hours, left out like that, it had improved a lot. Became a pleasant, mellow wine.

Had 2 bottles over dinner with the LV crew last nite at a midtown Italian eatery (very good food, but I don't recall the name of the place on E.52). Dark garnet color, no noticeable bricking. Pleasant nose of cherries and plums, with some violet and dust. There's still a good amount of red and black cherry fruit here, with leather and herbs. Pleasingly long and spicy finish. We popped n poured the first bottle, but decanted the 2nd--from which …

Solid brunello but I was expecting a little more complexity or age or both. I think it might be a bit young. I thought the forward nature of 2007 might show more, ut think this is a bit closed. Next bottle 3 years. (if I remember to wait)

Nez discret de fleurs sèches, de fines herbes et de chocolat blanc. Un vin fruité et souple aux saveurs de fruits mûrs et de tabac blond. Finale moyenne sur des notes de griottes. Très bien !

A very satisfying Brunello, especially on open and for the first hour or so. Masculine aromatics of polished leather, iron, and cherry. Palate showed sophisticated blended flavors of ripe cherry, dried dates, mocha, and soy. The wine is structured with adequate acidity and moderately grippy tannins. But the sense is that this is at peak and fading since the wine got decidedly more pedestrian over time, showing a more one-note cherry taste, so drink up.

Deep dark garnet in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackcurrants & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, spices, herbs, tobacco, leather, some tar, anise, iron, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Full bodied with very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & plums with mushrooms, minerals, cocoa, herbs & spices. Lingering finish. …

Slightly brown edge with an interesting, mature note of caramel. Medium bodied and somewhat elegant, but missing distinctive varietal character. Maybe on the downside - beware!

Drinking fantastic. The bottle size (3.0) helped. Mild tannins, smooth. Good fruit. Everyone enjoyed.

Mid red indicating moderate age. Forest floor with red fruit notes on the nose. Palate is balanced, with soft ripe tannins supporting the clean red fruit. Very classic Brunello. Drinking beautifully now but no need to rush.

Bright red fruit and elegant structure. Purchased at the winery in 2012. Still vibrant and alive. Opened it the Monday before Thanksgiving with the fam, who were with me in Tuscany.

I was a bit taken aback by this. There is a dark, brooding backdrop along with a racy, acidic energy, some oak and forest floor. This is pretty fun and serious stuff. Captivating. Doesn't hold up as well on the 2nd day. The bit if fruit and brightness got lost a bit. Still pleasant though. This is one to finish up on the first day - it has so much delicious vibrancy and energy.

Clear, pale/medium ruby. This bottle was not giving off much at first. The nose was muted, but with some air, there was tart red cherry, prune, redcurrant, and a hint of tobacco. Some synthetic notes also emerged. On the palate, acidity was still quite high, with a full body and medium tannins. Medium(+) finish. Austere in style, and surprisingly tight. Would give 90-91 pts on this showing. Bottle variation perhaps?

My only bottle, and I don't remember where I bought it, or why I only bought 1 bottle, but I wish I had bought more. Very enjoyable and balance wine. It paired very well with a number of different foods. It was the WOTN.

Decanted two hours. Dark red, a bit of browning on the edge. Excellent nose of tart cherry and some leather. Full palate of more tart cherry and spices. Excellent with food, excellent on its own, in great balance with good acidity and structure, so can last. In a very good window right now.
