- Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of blackberry, black olive and coffee. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of chocolate with a medium/full body. Oily texture with a medium finish - This was a bottle I left aside for a few years as I got bored of the younger too yammy versions. Time did good as it got way more balanced and lost some overripe fruit. I drank it over a few days and enjoyed it.

Fragrant fruit upon pop of cork, but then dead on the nose and tasted green for the next hour or so. After an hour of air, candied fruit on nose, candied fruit, oak, dark chocolate and spice on the palate. Mouth-watering, medium-short finish, pleasant.

Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Very dark garnet color. Nice nose of black pepper, black cherries, mushrooms, dried herbs. Excellent on the palate, with good depth of black-fruit flavors. Rich flavors combine with firm acids to yield an austere balance that shows good fruit. Finishes with dryness, grip, and medium tannins. This is a very nice bottle of vino. It has very good flavors and the structure could lead you to hope for improvement over the next several years. It has …

P&P. Dark color. On nose licorice, candy, toffees, aromatic herbs, dates. A bit too much over extraction for me... A bit too dry on palate, medium bodied, medium acidity. Quite a crowd pleaser and a good qpr.

A good solid 90. A little lean on opening but pleasant nevertheless. It did not tighten up in the first hour and I will check it again tomorrow. Not a lot of depth but tasty Spanish for a good price. Seems ready to me but has enough tannins to last 2-3 more years minimum. Good everyday wine.

The 2007 Volver La Mancha is a deep ruby wine with medium length legs, and a nose of black cherry with just a hint of cedar. Initially soft in the mouth with tastes of black cherries, then powerful, mouth-coating tannins crash the party and overwhelm everything else. Thick and chunky on a short finish with black cherry and more oak. The 2005 was far superior to the 2007. This seems lackluster and over oaked. No nuance, unbalanced and difficult to …

Dusty tannins that are rather firm yet. This wine is very young. After an hour of catching air, beautiful dark fruit overlays a smoky undercore of herbs and sandlewood. Great QPR. In another year or two this is an easy 90 pointer. Has the structure to last at least 5-6 more years. Maybe more. 4 hours later. The bottle is empty, the flavor is still rich with chocolate notes, great fruit and a wonderful structure. 5-6 more years on this …

Drink now! This wonderful deal with tons of tannins has mellowed and doesn't seem to be able to age much more. Still love this wine/QPR!

Very bright acidity and prominent astringency at first mouthful. Needed about an hour to open. Once there, black cherries, violets, and good dose of Spanish oak. Acidity was still bright throughout the meal, bottle never laced itself together even at the conclusion, but was very food friendly. Drank very young for an ’07. I would hold this bottle for another year or two.

First try at a Tempranillo.Decanted for an hour. Dark almost purple cloudy color. On closer inspection not cloudy at all. Some oak and Dark cherries on the nose with a little clove. Blackberry on the palette and nice mouth watering tannin. Good finish. It actually felt as if it had more to offer but was holding back. Worth getting another bottle and comparing. Just goes to show, good wine does not have to cost a lot.

Great aroma. Prune, Plumb and dark red fruit. Weighty. Nice wine for the price. Ran through aerator and was still tight. Better the next night.

The 07 Volver Tempranillo is a beautiful brilliant ruby wine with long legs. The nose has cherries, violet, vanilla, cloves and spices. There is a very pleasing heft to the mouth feel with tastes of black cherry, red raspberry and vanilla. The medium finish has red raspberry, vanilla and oak. An enticing nose, eye-catching color, nicely weighted in the mouth, good depth of fruit, racy acidity, well-structured and good, solid overall balance. All the pieces are here. Even given that, …

Light oak, smoke, charcoal, dark fruits (blueberry/dark cherry and plum/blackberry), some pepper and coffee/espresso. Dry, medium bodied, medium+ finish. Blackberry, blueberry, and dark cherry on the mid-palate. Finish is espresso/tea/oak and dark fruits. This wine can attack the mouth and needs to be decanted 1+ hours in order to soften the delivery. Decent value but need to try some other Tempranillo at this price point. Overall good effort, seems to have the structure to last another 5-6 years.

Getting much better right out of the bottle. Last year I would decant it for at least an hour but now a quick trip through an aerator and it was perfect. Dynamite QPR! 90-91

Lots of caution and excitiment goes into a new wine tasting! Volver has a fantastic taste of inspiring spice and fruit w/oaky tones that please you for a nice finish. Soft tone for a soft 3month manchego. Don't be shy... Go and explore a nice and pleasureing difference. $16

100% old vine tempranillo. Black. At opening, strong smoke and tight. 1 hour/15 minutes in the decanter later dark fruit, blackberry/prune, and coffee/licorice emerge. The smoke subsides but not completely. The fruit continues to evolve and improve until the bottle is finished. Big and youthful in the mouth with some fine tannin and good structure but it rounds out and is enjoyable for current drinking. Overall, strong smoke, modern, enjoyable, lots of wine, needs time, interesting, best with bold foods. …

Dark and lively wannabe fruit bomb, with some decent acidity to back up the big rough tannins (like a fine grade of sandpaper). Overall this is a nice young tempro that has enough tangy yet sweet fruit (like many a good neo-style tempro, it has strong simiilarities to a north coast cali cab) to drink now, but if the tannins settle down in about twelve to eighteen months, it will be more rewarding. Buy a six pack and enjoy the …
