Quinta do Zambujeiro Vinho Regional Alentejano Terra do Zambujeiro

Wine For Asia 2008 (Suntec City Singapore) : Coffee aromas with shavings of dessicated coconut and the richness of port. Strong masculine dark fruit cake stuffed with blackberries, deep dark plums and that swig of rum and port. Definitely big with alc showing but not yet headache induing. It is still a good wine.

WFA - the wines of Quinta do Zambujeiro (Suntec Convention Centre, Singapore) : Unusual blend of 26% Aragonez, 25% Castelao, 23% Trincadeira, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Alicante Bouschet. Lovely, rich, layered nose, with port-like spiced-fig cake, vanilla and dessicated coconut along with an unfortunate whiff of alcohol. Good complexity on the palate as well, which attacked with a burst of flowers and a rush of the spiced-fig cake flavours. A bit OTT, but not completely without restrain. The wine …
