A very good Vin Santo and a great QPR wine. Beautiful golden color, very well balanced, not overpowering in any way and complex with layers of peach, apricot, yellow melon, nuts, mocha and raisins. Definitely recommend.

Talula's Table with a few Berserkers - Late Summer menu : Nuts, apricot, caramel. I liked this but found I kept going back to the lighter, more airy, Molitor Riesling.

A really quite excellent dessert wine - nutty flavor with touch of raisins (no surprise there).

Coppr colour. Nose: concentrated risins? Plums pruns. Taste: high acid, plums really robust but lively. Excellent.

Vanilla, caramel, and butterscotch with a hint of nuts on both the nose and palate. There's noticeable alcohol burn at first. With a few minutes in the glass, some apricot, brown sugar, and creme brûlée emerge. This is a little more viscous than the 2004 was, with a palate along the lines of a Colheita Port. It's a decent drink, but nowhere near the 2004. I'll follow it over a few days to see how it evolves.

dark golden color, nose nutty with some fruity notes, palate rich with sweetness balanced by just enough acidity and nutty flavors, finish so long and satisfying. Overall really quite nice, better than I expected. 93 pts. would be great with a rich/creamy dessert like a cheesecake

Nutty raisin notes on the palate. Just right sweetness to go really well with cheese cake.

Caramel, sweet and salty popcorn, honey toasted nuts, maple syrup, (sweet) kelp, iodine, and minerals on the nose and palate. Richly concentrated, likely to pair well with a range of desserts. Satisfying!

Fig dominates but it had hazelnut, prune, almond paste, and enough acidity to balance the sweetness. Very nice finish to the meal.

One of the best dessert wines I've ever had. Very complex yet balanced flavors of nuttiness, date, raisin, and honeysuckle with just the right degree of sweetness. Not overly viscous. Highly recommend, 93+

This is a decent vin santo. But I much prefer a sauternes or many other stickies. Not much to this other than brown sugar and some sherry-like nuttiness. A bit cloying, could use more acidity.

Tasting at the Felsina Winery (Felsina Winery) : Nice, deep amber color. On the nose, we get walnuts, nice dried fruits, some lacquer notes and a light touch of sherry. Not too sweet nor austere. Very good vin santo. The score might be a bit low, as I am not traditionally a fan of the style.

From 375ml. Tasted next to Isole e Olena's 2006 Vin Santo. This is so much more elegant with lifted notes of died fruit, walnuts and crème caramel on the nose. Rich and concentrated but not too sweet or cloying. Smooth and gentle. Very fine length. 92-94

Dark amber colour. Nose of brandy, orange, rancia. Medium sweet. 14,5% which it hides nicely. Perfect with almond desserts like Charlotte Malakoff.

A private dinner (Restaurant Toscanini, Amsterdam, NL) : Amber gold with an orange sheen; rich and deep nose, smoked almonds and candied fruit, salty wood, spicy vanilla, hint of caramel; juicy palate, rich and full, medium sweet, tangy acidity, flavours of nuts and crème anglaise, powerful and concentrated; confident finish, very good length. Quite stunning.

A week in Tuscany (and Lots of wines); 10/19/2015-10/21/2015 (Tuscany, Italy) : There are a lot of Vin Santo's made but very few good ones. Felsina's has always been one I like. This was no exception. Iced tea in color. The nose has honey, apricots, raisins, and toffee. Viscous and sweet but not overly so. Great acidity. A little goes a long way. Honey, apricots and figs on the palate. Tightly packed layers. Slightly oxidized which I found interesting and …

Fabulous. Almost dry tasting in the mouth, with considerable rancio character, but beautiful complexity. Some warmth from alcohol evident as it warmed in the glass, so best just slightly under room temperature.

Beautiful amber color and powerful nose. High alcohol evident, reminding me of port. This is my first vin santo and I found it delicious. More complex and stronger flavors than sauterne.

The nose showed notes of caramel and tart white table grapes. On the palate, the wine was a typical Vin Santo, but was slightly volatile and even had a note of mothballs. Nevertheless, 89+.

Upon opening, a bit hot, with some taste of wood. I recorked and revisited it a month later. Wow, this stuff is singing now! Golden-orange nectar tasting of liquid golden raisins, apricots and minerals....absolutely delicious.
