Domaine Charles Audoin Marsannay Clos du Roy Blanc

Our 3rd tonight of the “cru” Marsannay wines from Audoin, more often than not my favorite of the three. And this is good tonight, but I might actually like the Champ Salomon better. All three drinking well, in any event 👍

This is a glass from a bottle opened last night, and the first thing I noticed is that the reduction I had commented on a couple of months ago when I first tried this wine is not really noticeable on day 2. Very likable, well-made Chardonnay. Feels somewhat open-knit on day 2 as well, so perhaps this vintage isn’t built for much more aging. But this is very drinkable at this point.

My first time trying the new vintage for this wine. This has a noticeable reductive element on the nose - not overpoweringly so, but certainly noticeable. I like it, but also mention it because I know some folks don’t like it at all.
