Although the profile is consistent with notes from a previous tasting (on 6/11/2011), this bottle lacks acidity giving the wine a flabby and cloying feel. Not sure if this is a bottle flaw or if this vintage is on a downward spiral. Giving this the benefit of the doubt but won't know for sure until I open a few more bottles.

Well balanced, lacking some stuffing, clean on the palate. Orange blossom figures big in the midpalate. Some peach and honeysuckle notes come through. A hint of pungent minerals in the finish. Very nice.

Rich and sweet with good intensity and depth. Opens up with a musty nose of citrus, candied apricots, honey, cedar, and a whiff of butterscotch. Flavors of Mandarin orange, dried stonefruit (especially apricot), citrus rind, Meyer lemon, lemon zest, and a hint of sweet red apple. Snappy finish. Good balance between sweetness and acidity. Not bad for an entry level Sauternes.

Pretty light amber. Smells like 1971. Suede. Smooth and ... Dunno. Not as spectacular as so many Sauternes. Honeydew melon maybe.
