Preferred this wine a little younger. Not bad just lost a little structure. Lacked the acidity I wanted with my grass fed rib chop. Palate moved a little more towards plum and a little fleshy. Still good but I liked it better a few years back. My pairing probably didn’t help.

Nice surprise to find this in the cellar. Still very dark, not showing much brick or aging. Nose is nicely mature, lots of dark fruit, cherry and plum. Palate is more of the same, sweet but nicely balanced. Tannins are pretty mild, acidity is good but not overpowering, and the fruit is sweet but not overly so. Completely delicious and an excellent Tempranillo. As far as domestic Tempranillo goes, this still falls short of the Cayuse Impulsivo. That wine is …

Dark fruit complimented by mineral notes, Mediterranean spice and walnuts. Good depth and texture. This is one of the finest, if not the finest, examples of Tempranillo made in the USA. Good juice.

Wonderful expression of red fruit, Mediterranean spice and wild herbs. What a great iteration of Tempranillo from the state of Washington. Aromatically pleasing. Layers of enjoyment. This wine has entered a great drinking window at age eight. Good juice.

In a really nice drinking window right now. Notes of tobacco, dark berries and a hint of vanilla. Well balanced and earthy. A bit tight right out of the bottle but really opens up after an hour.

Smooth vanilla oak nose, pours dark purple. Not much Tempranillo character, new world modern style. Black cherry, anise. Smooth sweet finish. Too much lavish oak and rather fruit forward. Might benefit from a few years to settle down.

So good! I am finding it super challenging to describe this wine because it is so balanced and complex. Don’t laugh but I pick up a roasted poblano on the nose which quickly dissipates into tobacco leaf and cocoa on the tongue. It finishes with the classic Tempranillo spice. Straight out of the bottle it was a little stringent but after a short time in the glass it opened up nicely. We had it with dinner and were pleased. When …

New World Tempranillo does not get much better. A generally overstated 'noble' variety (Portugal's Touriga Nacional outperforms it in every measurable category, IMO) this is varietally correct and poised. Holding form, but probably best before 2023-2025.

So good. A rocks feel to the nose with smoke, funk, tobacco, olive, blueberries, violets and anise. Tastes like black cherry, plum, iron, brine, and anise. Medium full bodied, moderate tannins, and moderate acidity. Decanted for an hour got better with additional air.
