Adega da Cartuxa Foral de Évora Branco

Recollections from a couple of weeks ago... Some (not unpleasant) oak not disimilar to how it shows in a mature Pouilly Fuisse like those from Ch Fuisse. Some lemony fruit still there, but this leans more towards a slightly oxidative white Rioja Very good complexity and length. Interesting indeed and worked well with the greek style food prepared.

Médium dark yellow. Ripe white frutos such pear, red appes and some peach. Great wine with great evolution. Médium finish.

Sweet and ripe fruits with toasted oak. I've also got some oxidation on both nose and palate. Good acidity with nice oily texture. Overpriced. 89+

Drank at Castelo Casa do Leao Restaurante. 13.5%. Greenish color, fresh candy-like nose, light and fruity on the palate. Smooth finish. One of those whites that improves as it opens in that the nose becomes more complex with hints of the forest and the finish becomes even smoother. By Portuguese standards, this ain't cheap. However, given a very nice, light wine in a beautiful setting, I think it is immensely good value!

Drank at Marisqueira Far e Benifica. Served in a champagne glass. Fairly dark yellow. Undistinguished nose. Reasonably smooth, slightly sour. Reminiscent of a Chard champagne without bubbles. So easy to drink I did not even realize we finished the bottle.
