Beautiful fragrant nose the palate fruit was very soft and round.

Much more youthful than its almost 20 years in the bottle. Light, clear ruby color, no sign of bricking. The nose was heavy on dirt and mushroom, with highlights of bright cherry and roses. The palate picked up the red fruits with cherry and raspberry notes. Smooth and inviting through the mid-palate; great mouth feel. Medium+ acid through the mid-palate and the jowls. Slow-ox'd 2 hrs, tasted over 3 hrs -dark red-purple, very dark for Truchot, mild bricking, no sediment -not overly expressive, ripe almost port-like somber earthy element overlies some faint typical stewed tomato and cherry -med acidity, med weight, remnants of ripe somewhat roasted raisiny fruit and an espresso bitterness though it retains an elegant mouthfeel, significant tannins still present -the typical Truchot elegant touch salvages this to make it a good, though still not great, wine that does not particularly …

Found this on the list at Purple Cafe and Wine Bar in Seattle. The bottle I had of this last night was a far different experience from the 2004 Clos Sorbes I had about a month ago. Lots of red fruit on the nose and initial taste, acid kicks in toward the middle but not too much, decent aftertaste. Very nice wine for the price and for what I was expecting. This is the second Truchot offering that has exceeded my expectations - just an individual thing perhaps but the winemaker seems to appeal to my senses.

beautiful, pure, sweet, clear, cherries, violets and a touch of earth. held up well on day 2. clean acidity.

exactly what you might expet from Truchot in this vintage- light ruby color, red fruits, rustic earth on the noe, palate is very light, a touch fat, but very nice- not sure this is a great ager, but a nice drink and much more elegant than the vintage might suggest.

Unusually fruit-forward for a Burgundy, probably owing to the heat of the vintage. More like a California Pinot, but a very good one.

quick notes from memory: violets, bright red fruits. a bit short on the finish and more tannins than I would have expected. more complexity on the nose than on the palate at this stage. **1/2

Consistent with previous note in the atypical dark colour. Very aromatic and sweet on the nose, almost annoyingly. Good acidity, but too fleshy and obvious fruit with a roasted character which became almost balsamic over time. Even tinkering with temperature did not produce a balanced wine which could hide the heated flaws. While I consider Truchot's 2003s to be a failure, especially in that this wine had not Sorbés or even Morey character, I have to admit that non-Burg nuts …

Good and complex but the finish was short. Had a burgundian quality but fell a bit short. Nonetheless we enjoyed this wine. For the price, however, we expected more.

Beautiful garnet color. Bright red berries, violets and some earth on the nose. Light bodied and very red berry flavors and bit hot and short on the finish. Not a lot of spine, here but very delicious, nonetheless. Even in a "bad" vintage the pure aromas come through and this is a treat to drink.

A weekend of Jacky Truchot; 1/28/2006-1/29/2006 (Washington DC) : Atypical deep garnet colour. Deep aromas of sweet fruit. Some herbal elements, nice streak of suprising acidity. Some fleshy elements on the finish. A bit short overall though.
