Predictable Michael-David fruit bomb, fully extracted wine, very full-bodied. Best paired with spicy, grilled full-bodied food: BBQ, spicy Mexican food, pizza, etc. You may not like the style, but given the style, they do a consistently good job with what they are setting out to do year-to-year. Have found on sale $13.99, but may be more at your wine store. Drink now, pop and pour, might last into 2018.

Fully-extracted and very full-bodied. This is the wine you want to serve with smoked BBQ or spicy Mexican food, this is the wine that WILL stand up to it. Bouquet of white flowers is inviting. Greets with a surprisingly intense concoction of cherry, dark berries, and baking spices. Onctuous and jammy, this wine seems overdone. There is no aging potential, so drink now.

Very full bodied. Rich, leathery, and ripe nose. Palate to match, with a meaty-spicy quality. Medium+ tannins. Long finish. This was a perfect winter warmer on a dreary night in February.

On day 1 this was an over-oaked fruit bomb. When it calmed down it was more pleasant. Didn't pair well with foods. I got more coffee from this wine than actual fruit. Strange but interesting.

I like this! Comparing with 2003. Hard to tell a difference, so notes will cut&paste. Big aroma of alcohol and superball, some earth. Very smoothe in the mouth. Flavors of dark fruit...boysenberry, black raspberry. Dry, not sweet.

I decanted one hour. It was raspberry, sweet, tart, spicy, chocolate, quite creamy. I really enjoyed this wine. It wasn't so good the next day though. The finish was as smooth as the swallow. There was heat but not a burn.

Spicy raspberry, toasted oak, and some light tar notes in the nose. Velvety and heavy in the mouth, with abundant raspberry and oaky flavors. Feels a bit topheavy and artificial, with lots of weight and not a ton of acid, so the balance is at best, only decent. Long finish.

Mom loves this wine like it is going out of style. For my wife and me, it was a little too over-extracted and dense. There were more complex flavors and aromas going on which kept my interested, but the teeth coating glycerine feel was hard to shake. Loads of cream of prune soup going on here. It was not my style.
