Foxen Mourvèdre Rosé of Mourvèdre "The Watermelon"

Watermelon on the nose but not on palate, like Jdubb reports. Maybe the rind on the palate like cbkamp noted. Too acidic. Fun to try one bottle.

Nose was strawberry jolly rancher candy. Palate was watermelon rind with a mix of red fruit. Nice balance with lively acidity.

This is a truly unique wine, I haven't had any other mourvedre rose so can't compare it to anything so take my score with a grain of salt. It's refreshing, very dry w/o any distinguishing fruit characteristics. You certainly get watermelon on the nose but it's missing on the palate.
