DG 09/2018 Profoundly chalky, gunpowder, beeswax, wet stones, lemons, limes and kumquats, white flowers, elderflower and lilies, a hint of honey, cereals. Creamy bubbles but too high acidity at the moment. I think it's too young but seems that it will be a great wine in a couple of years. 89pt

September 2018 disgorgement, Brut Nature bottling (zero dosage). Medium yellow in color with lively bubbles. Nose is full of orchard fruit, crisp red apples and rich lemon. Nice brisk acidity, very juicy and forward. Not showing any influence of time spent in barrel, though I think this was partially kept that way? Will update if relevant once notes are tracked down..

Champagne Jean-Marc Sélèque Visit with Vintage '59 (Pierry) : Brief tasting note, dinner at the winery. Very concentrated citrus flavors dominate, especially lemon curd. From an exceptionally sunny parcel in Dizy, the fruit coming from here is blended into Le Quintette as well and offers lots of freshness in addition to the noted concentration of flavors. Liked this more tonight than after revisiting in April 2020's note.
