Still young, full of interest and intense fruits both on the nose and palate Good example of the region

Smells of pomegranates, spicy and very ripe. Full ripe fruit with a nice acidity and freshness. A little tannin and leather. Rich fruit persists. Weightier style of Fleurie. Definitely has the heft to last a good few years.

A little green for now, but quite drinkable, good black fruit. (***)

Disappointing. Rather pedestrian, for a member of the Wine Society's "Exhibition" brigade. While the color is good, the nose is almost non-existent. The initial taste is bland and any sense of this appellation's reputation of floral, perfumed elegance seems lacking to me. To its credit, its residual finish is relatively long, and more pleasurable than either its nose or taste. Not bad, just not special. A basic Beaujolais at best.
