Nicely developed but not great. Ripe cherry with hints of spice. Minimal funk. Smooth tannins. Nice acidity on finish. Honestly, I was surprised how well this has held up.

I worked hard for this wine! (goodbye present from summer internship) -- this was very enjoyable -- the color is reminiscent of an old tawny port, and the wine is light bodied to the point of being transparent. Upon opening, I smelled chocolate/cocoa strongly, but after decanting this was a much more faint note. 14.1% alcohol. I'm just impressed with how well this wine shows right now. Cherry color, with a sumptuous bouquet of black cherry and minerals, with a more pronounced spice note now than a few months back. Popped & poured last night. Initialled strong sour cherry & strong acidity which softened over an hour. In the next 1-2 hours everything come together. Lucious red fruit, well integrated acidity; fruit and floral scents too many to describe. Will taste same bottle again today.

A pleasant wine. Nose of candied raspbery, with notes of spice, cola, and cocoa. Palate offers up red fruit (raspberry, cherry, strawberry) with a slight bitter edge. Good acidity. Not complex or nuanced enough to score any higher. A lot of 2006s are turning out this way.

This starts with a "smokey" pinot color, which I enjoy. Great summary for this pinot; light, but nicely nuanced. I greatly prefer this to the William Selyem RRV and also the Dain Dandy Pinot. This has a more complex finish with tobacco leaf and minerals. I am only getting modest berry components, a bit different than many RRV pinots.

Beautiful burgundy color with a nose of violets raspberries and strawberries. Light bodied, strawberry flavor leads to a mid palate of tangy raspberries and finishes with a little red cherry. Very nice! Well balanced acidity and fruit.

Drank this at Mike Grammer visit off line of Pinot. Held its own with Litterai and Alesia in the flight. Of the three - this one had the most fruit. Primarily red/black cherry and plum and some nice strawberry with a hint of spice. Wasn't decanted - but really opened up nicely as the night wore on. Recommeded by Dain that this one was ready and he was correct. Thanks David.

This wine is complex with red raspberry, pomegranite, cocoa, cinnamon, and pepper on the palate. What really stands out is the delicate mouthfeel contrasted with the depth of red fruit and spice. Light garnet color. Nose is very nice with cinnamon, orange zest, little grapefruit this time, pommegranante. Day 2 nose shows big cinnamon and orange zest. Tasting so nice. Cherry, pommegranate, orange zest. A ton of flavor, terrific balance. Just gorgeous.

Coming along nicely, this wine is showing real dexterity and finesse. Compared to the 2004, which was aged in more heavily toasted barrels, this is a puppy, but still lots of rich fruits on the nose. The palate is coated with lots of dark cherrry, hints of spice and cola, was medium- to full-bodied with seeming low acid, offered a very rich mouthfeel, and even offered some bell pepper on the finish, which was interesting and not at all off-putting. …
