Brambly older nose worth plummy aromas. Tart fruit. Some tannins with good acidity. Flavors of aged red fruit, cherry, raspberry and a hint of menthol. Medium finish.

Popped and poured. Vibrant and full of life. The fruit is now in balance with the tannins. Plenty of life left, but now on the backside.

Second Sunday Group: 2005 Bordeaux (R&D's) : Double decanted off its sediment a couple of hours before dinner. Peppery dark fruit, spice and floral elements. Tannins are softening nicely and this is in a good place for my palate- medium tannins; plenty of fruit. Has a nice perfumed quality that's really nice. Paired well with D's spring lamb stew.

Dark Fruit. Earthy - maybe a bit too earthy for my taste. Long finish. A good bit of tannin still present.

I say 93, only because I'm afraid to go higher. We had this bottle on our inaugural visit to Chef Joe's new Roberta's Restaurant. Both the food and the bottle were of the highest caliber. Good friends go together, as well as good wine and good food--it's the way that it is.

Had this with short ribs in sherry. On opening, some initial fruit before tannins took over. After an hour, just mouth puckering tannins with a slight bitterness. After three hours, the tannins finally smoothed out. Nice acidity and good finish. Given that it was 3 - 3.5 hours to open up and drink well, there is clearly time left in the cellar on this. Very nice wine.

NY/NJ Offline at Aureole 8.20.12 (Aureole, NYC) : The nose is dominated by American oak showing as a dill component with some additional notes of band-aid and black cherry. Full-bodied with medium acid, medium-high tannin and a short finish.

It's better than 93, i just don't know where to stop. After being opened just a short while, the bouquet just filled the air. The wine and the steaks at Davio's were a perfect match. Matt from VA made tonight's choice.

Dark and smoky. Notes of bacon fat. Nice fruit. Not quite as much finish as I hoped. Still very nice.

Great color, great dark fruit flavors, nice finish, nice complexity. Almost 92. I'm glad to have 5 more bottles.

N: chocolate, lavender, violet, cinnamon, lime flower M: big fruit tannins & oak, this is still a baby, but has the grace to show something good once it calms down. My favorite of the Arroyo tasting. Pair with big spanish foods.
