San Polo Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Vecchia

Wine Tasting at San Filippo winery (San Filippo) : Marked by herbs and spices, leather, nutmeg, a light balsamic tone and earthy notes. Darker but also with harsher tannins, showing the vintage's character.

Ruby red color. Nose of strawberries and slight cedar oak notes. Overall not very aromatic. Similar palate led by red fruits finished with hints of smokiness. Medium+ body, grippy tannins, high acidity. Definitely opened way too young, this is still quite restrained and needs more time. Took multiple nights to open up. But got better each day. Definitely will be a strong wine in the future. Rating based on estimated future.
