Age has helped but still a bit pedestrian.

Nose - pear Mouth - tart sweet combo rocks it. Very lively but too sweet for some of other guests.

Random wine tasting night out (Lost Roots wine bar) : So typical "Mosel" nose (I know its Saar but still...), flinty, ripe citrus, tropical fruit notes Palate with high intensity, high acidity, flinty, citrus, underripe tropical fruit but also some candied fruit, complex, layered, long finish flavored with green apple

delicious, decently sweet x wickedly acidic = 1. i really like this style of wine. cuvees that use numbers to describe them trip me up and prevent me from further classifying them in my brain. per my notes i liked it in '19, and I do so in '20. reminds me a bit of an adult vinous sweetart...in the best way possible. [residual sugar = 37 gr/L]. there is a nice little herbal bit on the finish, but mostly i'm …

Summer fruit, thick and sweet ;) but still dry. This is crushable wine! An easy crowd pleaser.

My notes concur with the other two. Not badly made, but a bit of a yawnfest. 84 = low B

From an overall quality standpoint this was quite good, but it just didn’t grab me. Felt thick and simple. Will let my other bottles rest a while.

PNP into Atiap Titanium 200ml wine vessel (“Leaf” day): Pale lemon to the eyes. Lots of finely detailed citrus fruits like lemons upfront, giving way to loads of great set of stone fruits from apricots and peaches with time in glass. Florals, and fine herbal notes too. Beautiful bouquet here. Such an incredible balanced palate with high acidity perfectly offset by the off-dry sweetness on the palate here. Very authentic feel as consistent with what this producer is mostly famously …

Slightly effervescent on opening. Very dry for a Riesling. Feels a little bit closed, creamy mouth feel with medium acidity but not much fruit coming through at the moment. A bit unexciting. Possibly a bit young?

Quite fresh and somewhat lithe. There is some sap to the fruit but it’s more restrained than exuberant. The mineral and slate notes give this an extra dimension. Very nice, I went back to this toward the end of the night, one you can drink and drink.

A heck of a wine. Very similar to my previous notes with even more depth and complexity. A monument of apricot skin and grape complexity. Almost tactile it is so layered yet still shows verve and the incredible lightness of Saar Riesling. The sweetness is coming through tonight but there is so much savory depth it matches brilliantly with sushi. Very sad this is my last bottle. Will last for decades. (97)

Absolutely stunning and almost a replica of the bottle opened in 2016. Maybe a bit more harmonious. The thing here is the absolute flavor rush - layer after layer of nectarine skin, honey crisp apple, and lime zest. The finish is taught and really balances the mid-palate sweetness. I have 1 bottle left - wish it was a case. Sublime, unique in the richness and agility quotient. Wow. (96)

Totally delicious, with lots of melony fruit, a hint of minty/thyme sweet green herbs, and a powerful wall of acid on the back end that is distinctly 2010. You certainly need to not mind acidity, but for my taste there's enough fruit concentration and a hint of sweetness to balance the acid. Only nit here is I would have liked a little more mineral/slate complexity. But lovely with various summery dishes. Not very evolved, I have no idea how these …

Paired with a spicy ramen. Excellent balance between razor sharp minerality with lush opulent melon and apricot fruit. A touch riper and sweeter than I normally enjoy as table wine, this worked quite nicely with a dish with moderate heat.

18k gold color - deep. Incredible, penetrating nose of peach skin and prickly pear. What complexity on the palate! Layers and layers of flavor pop in your mouth. This is serious, real deal wine that has sweetness but is so balanced by Riesling extract that it doesn't appear to be a sweet wine. Wow. (95)

Classic riesling aromas, intense, lots of fruit. Opulent, a little sweeter than I expected so I will leave my remaining bottle for a few years down the road.

Really lovely. This is on the semi-sweet end of the Lauer spectrum. This is so well put together, with a medium-intense nose of berries and white flowers (just a hint of tropical), and a sleek palate of citrus and tropical fruits. More so than some other Lauers, the racy acidity and serious minerality is fully counterbalanced by opulent fruit. A real winner.

This is nigh on stunning. On the first day the nose surely smelled like the inside a citrus packing house, with all of the wax, peel oil and different varieties and levels of ripeness. On day two, the wine was all about spun sugar (lightly of cotton candy), and slight tropical hints. There was also spent cartridge, and slight melon vine. The incredibly complex nose was never heavy nor gave any impression of being too ripe. Before the first sip …

The sweetest of the Lauer wines I've tried- but the finishing acidity is so zingy and profound, that the end result is a beautifully balanced riesling. Perfect with a spicy Indian pairing, and a mind bender on its own. Really special stuff, I'm not sure I've ever had a wine that walked the tense edge of sweetness and acidity with such ease.

Delicious feinherb style. Crisp saline minerality, hints of slate. On the palate peaches and pears, a hint of RS. Very finely balanced. This should work really well with tagine-style chicken..

Packed with bright pear and green apple fruit and touches of peachskin over a bed of minerals and floral elements, razor sharp and very light on its feet with really good acidity and finishing almost dry. Delicious.
