Newark Wine and Dine 2015 (Newark, DE) : Light, fruity, and really lacking in varietal character. As a cocktail white it might be servicable, but little to recommend here.

A bit twisted upon first sip and spit, not showing the normal qualities you'd find in a CC Ava Viognier, seemed much more approachable on day 2, releasing some of the flora and pepper spices, and taming the acid. Not sure if age will bring this up to the bar standard. I hope so, I have a few more!

Like your Viognier with mineral notes and acid? This is perfect. While there is sweet tree fruit on the attack it's immediately backed up with the acidity and mineral flavor. Very clean and crisp. Excellent QPR and strongly recommended.

Honey, flowers, and tropical fruit. Nice acid balance. Great with Kung pao chicken.

Nice bouquet. Very dry and somewhat intensely lemony finish and flavor. I would prefer a Viognier that is more oily, mouth-coating, and has more honey flavors. (I preferred the Honey Moon from Trader Joe's to this.) Neutral

Tasted at ZM winery. Nice bouquet of fruit on nose - honey, lemon, apple. However, palate is opposite of lush. Dry, acidic, a bit of minerality.

Great vintage for Zaca Mesa Viognier. Clear in glass, clean and aromatic notes of white flowers and stone fruit, which carry to palate in a snappy, balanced non-viscous manner, making this Viognier very food-friendly and interesting at the same time. A great go-to at a reasonable price.

Clear-golden color. Clean and crisp honey-lavender nose with lemon rind and apricot. Burst of lemon acidity on the palate, followed by some grassy astringency, decent minerality and minimal peachy fruit sweetness. Light and lively mouthfeel.

Very much on the lemony side of viognier.

A bit unbalanced after opening but after breathing it was rich, buttery, and slightly sweet.

Clean and clear in glass, stone fruit aromas are muted, but present. Like the nose, palate flavors are muted, showing light flavor intensity of white peach, pear and lime, a touch of honeysuckle, but framed in crisp acidity and a very compelling minerality reminiscent of a young Condrieu. No cloying viscosity typical of so many Cali Voigniers. With a bit more fruit, this would have a huge score for the balance. Unlike a prior comment, there is no oak in …

I understand the positive spin but this is an over-oaked, hot wine without any real focus or style. It does have good basic tropical fruit components but is an uninspired effort.

Had by the glass at the BA lounge and maybe opened for 30mins or so. Light in colour. Ripe fruit on nose, peah, apple. Rich, round on the palate, long and full of ripe fruit notes. medium bodied, light on the acidity front. Good wine. 88 drink at will.

Nice, well rounded Viognier. Floral elements that are well paired both in the nose and on the taste buds

This was pretty nice, but I wish I could go back and drink it two years ago. It retained the viscous, velvety mouthfeel and texture, but had lost most of the tropical fruit character. Well made and well balanced, Cali Viognier in my experience is just better young.
